Does anyone have that kind of parent that you rarely consider as a real authority figure? I mean yeah...they're your parents and you treat them with respect and stuff but you treat them more as your friend Like the other day when my friend came to my house and my mom was err... exercising? X3 I was in a weird mood so I went and hit her with my micky mouse pillow and was like BWAHH!!! and she just stared at me XD. Afterwards my friend was like you and your mom have quite a weird relationship... And I'm like that's just the way we roll ......

So does anyone here have a freakishly close relationship with their parents? ^^

I've always wondered...why are we more closer to our mom's than our dad's? :S Take me for instance... when i was young I would go out with my dad a lot and play soccer and whatnot. Nope I have a very resentful relationship with my parents. Its due to the fact that they cling onto me like super glue. Its very creepy...especially when they call your FRIENDS to ask where YOU'RE at. Another creepy thing is when they're hovering over you during the morning. I swear to god, it makes me think they're touching me during the night or something. Its just plain disgusting.

Believe me its not bright or shining. I fake sleep and wait for them to go away...its just awkward...especially when they stay there for a long time. It gets really annoying because they call 40 times. It annoys you and your friends.

I can b*tch about things and talk to her about basically everything...almost everything..hahah
So like my mom knows about most of my highschool drama.

my parents are cool. they're down to earth and pretty much let me go where i want, but i just have to make sure they know where i am and keep my grades up. . but my dad in my opinion is more laid back, [and kinda scarier when mad] than my mother. i'm more careful of when to hit her than i am with my dad. LOL.

about the calling the friends thing, my parents don't that but when my friends call they think my dad is my brother!. x]
it goes something like this:

RINGRING. [dad answers]
"hello"
"hi, may i speak to kae?" [friend]
"okay, hold on." [yells my name]
"YO!" [me]
"hi, btw- who was the hot guy on the phone? didn't know you had a brother?!" [friend]

I'm an only child and my mom's my only parent, and we don't have any other family in the US, so it's sort of inevitable that we're extremely close. I don't mind, but sometimes it gets hard for me because it feels like I'm carrying her future on my back in addition to my own... But other than that, we're so close it's disgusting. But as close as we are, we get into fights almost religiously. We never go without a fight for more than a day, which is tiring. But we rely on each other and we've been through so much stuff together that we only rely on each other. (:

I'm in a great relationship with my mum, when I was younger it sucked cause she hit me and she was a typical Azn parent. As she got Americanized (or Canadian-ized?!) she became more open and funny. She's great, she's like my best friend and we can tell each other our problems. She also spoils me. o_o But she also has faith in me, unlike my dad. Sometimes she's naggy but she's great haha. I could make fun of her and she'd laugh with me.

With my dad, I used to be close to him but as I got older I became more rebellious and distant with him.

I can talk to my mom like she's my best friend, but it all fails, when she you know, she's a MOM. So, she'll have this more of negative/unfun/serious view when I tell her something, and usually whatever I do, to her is bad news. Haha.

hahaha I have that too..don't worry about it...LOL..I'm pretty close to my mom and my dad but in 2 different ways..I can talk to my mom in ways where I can tell her almost everything o_o..unless she lectures me AHA..but like at home I always make all these jokes and stuff and she would be laughing so hard and then sometimes I'll go run up and just randomly hug her or tell her she has white hairs LOLOL..........or sometimes hit her AHA but she hates that so I don't do that..

and with my dad, I laugh at him alot with his english *I know MEAN!!! ROFL he speaks english quite well for an asian just that he adds "s" to like every word* AHAHA........and then sometimes I slap him in the head for doing something but playfully and he'd do it back to me if I did something wrong too..........................
