I think if you're unsure, talking to a professor/adviser can help a lot. They know what they're talking about~~

As for my other major, Spanish, well...I had to have two majors to get my degree here, so I picked a second major I knew I'd be good at and enjoy while not having to stress quite as much or having the classes matter as directly for my post-undergrad goals.
Choosing a major is easier if you know what you're best at, most interested in, and/or hoping to do with your degree.

The thought of overruling Donald Trump, that's kind of a lame reason to get into Business.
It was either my seventh or eighth grade year, i told myself, i'm never going into Business. Like, you take those test to see what kind of field you best fit.
Business Management, i really don't know why. Particially is because it's a challenge. Something Challenging, something I've never seen myself do.

Being that my grandfather was an educator and at the same time he raised numerous schools in the rural areas of ROK, but he passed away early in my father's teens. My father also operated a construction company of his own in ROK, he says he was pretty much influenced by his father who always took him to the sites whenever he had a chance.
Same thing with myself. My father also took me to the construction sites ever since I could walk, so he says, and I remember how awestuck I was as a child to see the raising of an enormous structure right before my eyes. Even as a child, I was curious about the whole process of construction and how it comes together in the end as a place that influence everyday life of individuals -- so I always had that soft spot for architecture. I still carry many visible scars all over my body from falling and whatnot while visiting the sites as a child that reminds me of my childhood and the time I had spent with my father. There's just something about arhitecture -- it's something that's really hard to explain in words. It's more than words and senses to me as I had been exposed to construction at a very early age and I had been around it most of my life. It's like watching an airplane fly over your head as a child and you have this idea in your head filled with curiosity -- that was me with architecture. Even now, I get a butterfly in my tummy even thinking about it.
It didn't hurt to have spent last two years of my high school years with a teacher who was an architect himself -- he taught me everything about its profession and I had been influenced much the way how I approach a problem. And he was probably one of the nuttiest persons one will ever meet -- people wouldn't be able to tell his profession and he sure didn't act like a teacher nor an architect -- but, he's one of my favorite individuals on earth, he's just GD unique.
Anyway, to conclude -- basically, I lucked out being surrounded by people related to the profession early on.
To note, most of my non-Archi buddies have went on to chase money and they seem to be doing just fine as long as you're good at it, but not necessarily like it. Well, I definitely have a different opinion on that matter but who am I to tell you otherwise.
On the ninth day, God created the Seattleite..
And on the tenth day, God saw all that he had created and it was very good -- so he finally rested.

As classes started and a semester passed, the more I got into learning about fashion design, the careers, the lifestyle choices I had to make, i realized that even though i love fashion i don't think i want to make a living with it. besides I was already wanting to change to interior design, it was a difficult decision but when it comes down to how I wanted to live, what I wanted to do, ID was a better fit for me. I want to do a lot of stuff though o_O
you never know though, many college students change their major 2-3 times...

^^^^ like....
you can work for the cia, united nations, ngoS, etc.
and embassy work, etc.
my conselor was a political researcher for the cia.
she worked for them researching politic topics that she liked.
there's many jobs in any major that you like.
it gives you more oftens to work national or internationally too.
the pay various of course, but if you like the major/job,
isnt' that enough?
i know in reality loans and bills are pains,
but i, personally, feel like if i have a happy job,
i can have some sort of happiness in my mind to be able to face those loans/bills on.
did that answer your question? eek!
i knew i wanted to do this major when i didnt fall asleep in class too.
and when things made sense to me.
unlike math :|
take care ya'll.

Food for thought - I heard this at my brother's graduation last year - there was a study conducted in which all the students of a high school graduating class were asked whether they would rather become millionaires or do what they love. Out of the 100 who did become millionaires, 99 had said they would do what they loved.
(the numbers are kind of too convenient, but the speaker was the well-respected and well-studied type, and I believe what I want to believe

If I get a degree in communications, I can work as a translator, lawyer, announcer, and all these other things that may lead to what I may like to do in my lifetime.
Its a little for the money but its more for self satisfaction.

i chose international studies as a second major because 1)i tried art and i only love it when doing it alone and not for a grade and 2)i've always had an interest in the world, travel and other cultures. obviously i have a thing for asian cultures since i'm here and thats where my asian studies minor comes into play.
plus....everything else i thought i may like requires a doctorate to even do anything worthy. no thanks.

The bet part about being an IR or IS major is that you can tell your parents that it's NECESSARY to study abroad. I'll be in Egypt this coming fall and in China in the Spring! I'm super excited!
The faculty is of course, just as important. The entire Poli Sci/Ir department is AWESOME! I took Cultural Anthropology last year and fell in love with my professor. She made the subject really interesting and the readings she assigned were as well. I've decided to do a minor in Anthropology thanks to her!
Also important are the classes that the department has. If you look at their courses and see a lot that you'd like to take, then maybe the major's for you.
