hi~so i have windows dvd maker for my laptop, but everytime i add any type of video file (wmv, avi, mpeg, etc) it keeps saying its not valid or corrupt. BUT it does accept TP files, and only TP files =/ can anyone help me?

I had a problem with it being stuck at 99% before, but i managed to burn a DVD by converting all [avi, flv, etc even files that were already in wmv format] videos to wmv in a program called Super. The quality of the video decreased, but when i put the DVD in, the quality was not too bad at all on TV. Not as HQ as i wanted, but it still worked

try installing :

or go to :

then download and install very small file

if that doesn't work try installing VLC (best for codecs):

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

pick any server

why it says corrupt or invalid is due to you don't have any or the right codecs required for converting

^ i tried downloading and installing all the codecs you gave me and it still says its corrupt =/ should i download the klite codec?

i just tried windows dvd maker ony my vista laptop it works fine avi and all other accepted formats. seems like your windows dvd maker doesn't like the codecs i listed.


try the klite codec pack

if that isn't working

and since it's only accepting TP files

try rename your avi/wmi/mpeg, etc files with the TP extension.

e.g. kdrama.avi renamed to kdrama.tp

to do this

then you can perform the renaming easily

there is no harm to the file when you change avi to tp extension

you can always change it back so e.g kdrama.tp renamed back to kdrama.avi

hope that works if not try convert your avi/wmi/mpeg, etc to tp format ?

^for some odd reason when i do the folder options thing, i still cant change the file =/ i think there might be something wrong with my computer? becuase i actually tried uploading a video onto movie maker, but whenever i played it, only the audio was imported =/

hmm weird usually if you can only play audio means you only have audio codec working and video isn't this is really weird

your video codecs are fine since you're able to play video files

i suppose you'd have to use something other then windows dvd maker

you could try reinstalling windows dvd maker if you really want to use it (no clue if it'd work)

if you'd like to use another program is there anything you request besides windows dvd maker?

sigh it is weird. this is my first time using vista so im so confused x.x what other program? im not really picky. i just want one tat would work >.< do u have any recommendations?
