And personally I like Superantispyware, but some people say its too slow.
And if you dont think so, you can always check your firewall settings.

i dunno cause the weird thing is i thought that when something like that happens it automatically redirects you to another page and that one page keeps popping up. it just happens randomly like my laptop is spazzing out or something and then all these windows just start popping up. usually when i ctrl alt del it they all go away at once but i have to click each one to get rid of it. -.- i guess i'll try dling that just in case.
EDIT: well, i just scanned my laptop with the one you suggested and it detected zip zero zilch nada~ sooo i'm back at square one. why is my laptop randomly spazzing out when i use IE? hmm...

My laptop sometimes has odd keyboard issues and is not fun. Its like the control key gets stuck so if I hit T I get a new tab (I use firefox) very annoying -.- but yours is really interesting. Small chance, but might try to scan with hijackthis for anything suspicious.

well it doesn't happen often. it happened before when i FIRST got it and maybe 3 other times since i've had it. maybe it's a key getting stuck or my laptop is just "special". well ... i consider myself lucky to have a one of a kind spazztastic laptop.

I didn't think anyone else had this problem. O_O
When Internet Exploder is open, click control+N is that what you usually get? Do you think you MIGHT have hit N when a new window opened up?
My keys never physically get stuck, they simply think they are being pressed... FN, control, shift, and alt all have had that issue for me. I wouldn't be surprised if you had different buttons go nuts on you. Next time that happens hit like s or p and see if save or print comes up hahaha
As far as I know, there aren't any fixes for it. HP doesn't consider it a real problem people have. I know its not like a loose connection I have checked so eh least you know its nothing bad haha

really? you're getting multiple IE attacks too? lol. blahhh. which hp do you have? man, i bet fry's got pissed after i said i didn't want their warranty and they messed with my laptop. *shakes fist* haha jk. it hasn't done it in awhile but i'm just worried this will turn into a bigger problem later on as time goes by ... i don't want to be attacked by multiple popups every hour or so as time goes by. hopefully this doesn't turn into a bigger problem.

When I click it, the print dialogue thing comes up so it sucks if I ever want to disable my touchpad. I think that is the strangest thing ever...

Norton is the problem. Get rid of the POS software. Its the WORST A/V product out there. My friend just bought a new Dell Quadcore Q6600 desktop w/ 6 GB RAM and IE7 also lags on it big time between websites. Got rid of the Norton trial software, and the lag was gone instantly. Go a google search for "Norton Removal Tool". Run that to rid yourself of all Norton products on your machine cleanly and easily. Use this instead, http://www.avast.com , and it's free for one year for home use. Just have to register an email address.
