My computer recently crashed so now I have to get a new HD, but I don't know which one will be compatible with my computer.
This is my computer and this is the HD I'm thinking of getting
Any ideas? I also have no idea how to install it so I'm getting a friend to help me, but I'd like to know how much trouble it'd be. One of them says he might have to do ample research on the motherboard...

it will probably work, your motherboard already supports SATA, but doesnt support SATA3.0 which means it will run at standard SATA speeds. all you need is a SATA cable and SATA power from your power supply.
anymore questiosn feel free to ask.
cheers

yup would definitely work just wouldn't be transferring @ it's top speed 300mb/s instead 150mb/s (standard) as tomacko.source.net stated.
your motherboard:

you can plug your HD that you think of getting into any of the following ports on your motherboard sata 1 sata 2 sata 3 or sata 4 using a sata data cable (probably need to buy about $3 each [L shaped ends])
and as tomacko.source.net stated you require SATA power cable [L shape longer then sata data cable L] from your power supply connected to you HD which you should already have if you didn't change the original power supply included with your pc package. if you have only molex (4 holes) connecters you can get molex to sata cable converters for about 50 cents each if you don't want to buy a new power supply
as for trouble installing it .. it's as hard as putting changing batteries for a tv remote.
joking it's easy just ask or show a a pic if you don't know we can guide you through it
