I'm a computer science major in my 2nd year already..and its hard. No lies its either you understand it or you don't. and if you don't, don't be afraid of asking for help because the things you learn in any comp sci classes carries on to the next. each class is really rewarding in the end. =] best of luck for you.

It's pretty straightforward but you have to use a lot of logic. The language itself is easy to grasp but it's using it correctly in your compiler that makes it difficult. Expect to make a lot of mistakes in your programs.
It's pretty cool when your program actually works though, it just takes some time to get there.

Depends, some people have a knack for computers and programming and some don't.
I usually don't even study much, do homework at the last second, and program huge assignments in a few hours, usually right before they're. (Habit I need get out of... backfired on me a few times.)
Other people can program for hours and weeks and still not get assignments done.
Do you like computers, programming and math? What kind of advice do you want?

i was initially going to be a CSE major but abstract math scared me away... so i never really got to understanding that part lol.
i did take some programming courses though! debugging sucks. D: and don't ever plagiarize! i hear they're getting really good at catching plagiarism even if people change variable names and such because they have programs to look for all of that. ^^;

If you're one of those geeky computer type people, then computer science is the major for you. I don't mean this be offensive, but nearly all of my classmates fit that stereotype.

No. If you want that stuff, go to a college (or community college as they would say in the US). University is for theory and abstraction. there are three main areas your courses will be in: Programming courses, Logic courses and Math courses. Make sure you can be strong in all three. Programming languages you will learn are like Java, C, Assembly, Python, Possibly C++, none of which are web languages. Theory courses will be involving concepts like Running time of algorithms, Turing machines, Complexity and computational theory, etc. Math will be like statistics, Calculus, Lin Alg, Data interpolation, error cancellation ,etc
