I didn't happen to find a thread on this band, which is very sad, but if there already is one, feel free to close this.

For of those who do not Death Cab for Cutie, they're an indie rock band that started in 1997 and have become quite popular over the years. They've produced 5 albums in the past 10 years:

Something About Airplanes (1998)
We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes (2000)
The Photo Album (2001)
Transatlanticism (2003)
Plans (2005)
Narrow Stairs (2008)

If you have never heard their songs, I highly recommend you go on youtube and try to listen to some of them (the most popular ones will probably come up first), even if you might not be into indie pop/rock. Some of them have nice beats while others are more mellow, but combined with the lyrics, they're all pretty amazing.

SO who else has heard of/likes this band? I am completely in love with them if you couldn't tell, esp. after seeing them in concert in October. My favorite albums are their newest ones: Transatlanticism, Plans and Narrow Stairs, but their older albums are also good. My favorite songs (even though I love the majority of them) are: A Lack of Color, Transatlanticism, I Will Follow You into the Dark, Cath..., and Crooked Teeth.

Ben Gibbard is a wonderful lyricist- he knows how to convey emotions and just knows how to say things that I could never put into words. My favorite albums are Transatlanticism, Plans, The Photo Album, and Narrow Stairs.

i like em but not really a fan. my ultimate favorites are Soul Meets Body and Crooked Teeth. i guess they don't really fit with my music taste cuz i find most of their stuff way too mellow for my liking. makes me wanna sleep.
