And you should know that if it isn't just a lost domesticated cat, that feral cats can't be trained whatsoever. ._.
But it might be a nice gesture to put out some water and tuna or something for it, and if you do that often enough it should at least become incredibly fond of your house.

If the cat comes again tomorrow give it some pieces of meat (don't give apples, cats are carnivores). After s/he is used to you, the cat'll come back.
But the cat might be owned by someone...

You should definitely try to save the cat though. If you decide you dont want to keep him/her, you can always rehome it later after you save it. Trust me, people will be eternally grateful b/c street cats can have babies to other street cats and theres just so many homeless cats out there...

If you didnt think like such a timid little slave maybe you wouldnt get racism 5 or 6 times a week like you say you do. " -CuriosityGguy I think like a timid little slave. That's why I put this on my signature.

Yeah it could be someone else's cat.
Then again, signs would probably be up by now if someone lost it.
I would say what Kawakji advised, unless you really want to keep it.
Btw, if you really don't want cats or critters around your lawn, lay moth balls around.

stray cats know how to survive on their own
domestic cats on the other hand depend on their owners
i don't know its up to you lol

j/k
you feed it apples? i don't think cats will eat it unless you hide it in their food
i tried feeding a stray my bread (ham and egg ones from those chinese bakeries) and it would just eat the egg and ham
my neighbor had a stray cat pet for a while last year
it was during wintertime too
but it always felt obliged to leave whenever it wanted to and come back when it needed shelter
i still wonder if its that cat that used to make those noisy ass cat-sex screeches that kept me from sleeping
strays are irresponsible lol
one left 3 kittens at my cousin's
he took in 2 of them

My last cat was a stray, she was meowing outside a few nights before my dad fed her some chicken skin and she just never left. Not all stray cats are that feral. If your mum suggested your family keep it if it comes back one more time, then do. Just make sure you neutur it so it doesnt have any more kittens if its female and definitely get it checked out by a vet if you decide to keep it.
This may sound spinstery of me, but cats can be such real characters, they're good low maintenace pets if you dont have that much time to devote on a pet. All you really need is feed it and keep the kitty litter clean and the occasional pat here and there.

LMAO!!
That's what I would've done! JK
I have two cats that roam my backyard. I try to leave dishes of milk out for them but my dog immediately runs out into the yard and drinks up all the milk T.T
Nine times out of ten, he'll return with a little doggy milk moustache lol.
Your mom is right - it's starting to get really cold out. You should keep the kitty.

Anyways, if you don't want to keep it, it'd be best if you took it to an animal shelter so they can take care of it.

You don't have to make it a big deal, it's getting chilly out these days, you should keep it. But always make sure if it has a owner..you'll never know if that person might presume you stole it.

they don't eat apples
take it to the vet if you plan to keep it
if you take it to the animal shelter they will keep it if no one adopts it
Edit: *kill it; i wish they kept it

If you decide to keep the cat, just remember that having a pet is hard. Not easy at all. The cat may be stubborn at first about multiple things, but if you're patient with it, he or she will eventually be less stubborn and actually listen to you. But that doesn't mean things will be much easier.
Best of luck to you!
