i wanted to make burgers for the first time and i want it to taste good haha
i want to mix spices and such to make it good
im not looking for any specific taste or specific method.
it just has to be quick easy and cheap and available in supermarkets. i dont want to have to hunt down something i never heard of.
so anyone know any easy marinates or spice mixes to enhance my burger??
thanks
i am eating this burger with wheat buns, tomatoes, lettuce, red onions, and swiss cheese.

Personally, I make my burgers with plain old ground chuck and some salt on a cast iron pan to get a good crispy crust on them. Sometimes I add dried sage, which I think goes well with the meaty flavor.

emeril's burger seasoning is decent if you don't wanna make anything from scratch. dun need to mix spices/herbs... just add seasoning.
what you can also do is mix ground beef with a nice spicy sausage, like andouille.
alternatively, you can mix in different types of roasted peppers into mayo and add that into your burger. lets you flavor the burger with a nice dressing instead.
there's more than a dozen ways to enhance your burger. adding spices to meat is only just one way. good luck!

you still put lettuce. what you do is mince the peppers and mix it with mayo and spread it on your bread

ok i made my burger today.
i went to supermarket and tried to find emeril's burger mix but i couldnt. did you mean the original essense??
so i looked around and saw mrs.dash's original mix and on the label it says it's good for burger so i bought it.
i ate the burger but it still was too plain for me. maybe i didnt put enuff of the mix or something all i could taste was my onions overpowering everything. im gonna leave out my grilled onions next time. do i still need to put salt and pepper on top of the mrs.dash mix?? or is it included in there cuz i didnt this time.
it wasn't nasty but it definitely wasnt scrumptious. i guess i need to try diff recipes.
im definitely gonna try the pepper/mayo spread next time. i didnt have money today.

try mixing the meat with worcestershire or some cumin and garlic. my boyfriend loves when i mix the meat with bbq sauce (especially when i make it from scratch) and cheese. i'll add cayenne pepper to the mayo to give it a kick too.
too local to be exotic. too exotic to be local.

There's a recipe that got runner-up in some contest ......
- pork mince (1kg)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced and browned in oil)
- 1 tbs minced ginger
- 2 tbs fish sauce
- 1 tbs light soy sauce
- 3/4 tbs chinese 5 spice powder
- 1 1/2 tbs sugar
- lemon juice and zest (don't know how much and i don't think it's a good idea to out the zest/rind in)
So i haven't tried this but it's on my to do list ...... if you do try it tell me how it goes (maybe make one hamburger patty to start off with)
[edit] oops, didn't read the didn't want to hunt part. Most asians have the above stuff in their pantry anyway. The 5 spice powder you get at local supermarkets in the spices section but i guess you could omit it from the recipe and try that .... i don't really like 5 spice so i may be biased.
