Okay. First, of all, I loveeeee wearing high heels even though I, myself, don't own a pair!! I heard that if you wear a really high inch heels, it may damage your feet? Is that true? hohos' O__O" But yeah, the problem is I am tall for an asian girl and most people (including my family members) tell me not to wear high heel because I will look too "tall"! Is there anything wrong with wearing high heels when yourself is tall?
Btw, I am 5'8~~
You know you want to click it :P HAHA.

Tall people usually avoid high heels because they themselves feel self-conscious and embarrassed doing so....they don't like towering over others.

It's more of a self-consciousness issue...but if you yourself are perfectly fine with the way you look wearing heels....then by all means go ahead!

I'm not as tall as you but when I wear medium-size heels and walk through an Asian-dominated area I do get stares....so that's why I don't do it hehe XD

About the feet-damaging thing, heels just hurt imo...but you can practice walking in them or putting those insoles in to alleviate the problem.

You can still wear heels, just an inch or two. Nothing too high. Actually I find it somewhat scary wearing heels..
It's a long way down ohmy.gif
btw I'm taller than you ph34r.gif

lucky you TT_________________TT i wish i were as tall as you (cries 5'3 or sthn T_T, but can wear heels so i'm happy 8-)

about heels causing damage to your feet, it depends how high, how often you wear them and ultimately the shape of your foot, like if you have wide feet etc, can cause bunions,

i heard long term wearers also easily get cracked heels but then again i'm not too sure on that one

like others have said, heels can damage your feet.
-since most of your weight is going to the ball of your foot, you can get blisters/corns/etc. it would be difficult for you to walk if you damage that part and also your big toe. it could even disable you from walking if it's severely damaged.
-most heels push your toes together, kind of like binding and that can cause deformities like hammertoes/blisters/etc.
-high heels alter your balance(pushes your body forward) which causes you to put stress on your knees...and could cause problems in the knee joints

there's more but thats all i can remember.
nothing wrong with wearing them though unless you're wearing them 24/7. i mean..heels are hot. why wouldn't you want to wear them? remember, beauty is pain and sacrifice

and to the poster above. shoes too big and shoes with open backs(sandals/flipflops/mules) cause cracked, calloused heels because it allows the bottom of the foot to expand and harden/crack. sounds pretty gross, yeah?
another reason could be that you have dry skin or because you've been standing for long hours. use a pumice stone to get rid of the excess skin! callouses and cracked heels aren't that much of a biggie since it's the most common deformity.

I remember Sunmi (from Wonder Girls) pointing out the crookedness of one of the bones in her foot, and blaming it on dancing and walking in high heels as well as hereditary elements. She said she needed surgery & wouldn't be able to walk for 6 weeks.. :S

It may cause some problems to your feet if you wear heels all the time. I'm quite small so I love heels but I don't wear them a lot. I don't think there is nothing wrong with wearing heels even if you're tall. Don't feel too self-conscious. smile.gif

Tall guys like me generally don't mind girls who wear heels smile.gif

Unless of course, they're like your height or taller LOL.

If you think you look good in them just wear 'em. (:
I know for a fact that high heels makes your legs thinner. <3

uhm the only thing that is bad about wearing high heels, is if you wear them too much, it'll actually start forming your foot.
my mom has been wearing high heels for 20+ years now, and a bone in her feet stick out now, because of high heels. crazy.gif
anyways, if you don't have a problem with being even taller, then you should go for it smile.gif

if you're going to wear high heels, please pick GOOD ONES.
even if it's just for clubbing, you'll end up with bunions on the toes that rub against the leather (that is, if you even purchase a pair of leather shoes. skip synthetic leather altogether)

and try to find a pair of high heels that fit your instep (basically your arch) you don't wanna buy them too high where the arch of your foot doesn't even touch the shoe and you don't want the heel height to be too high that all your body weight is on the balls of your feet.

just buy a pair of manolo blahnik's. you can't go wrong with his shoes unless your arch starts closer to your heel

lve;
it's push and shove. sinnin' to feel heaven just for the hell of it.
contradictions, constant attraction, distraction...
so break my heart for what breaks yours & look after my heart; i've left it with you.

PSHHHHH. Whatever, I'm 5'8, too, and my friends are ......shorter!
And they tell me not to wear heels either, but why shouldn't we? Embrace your height, because all those short girls who tell you not to wear are just jealous C:

High heels are awesome and they dress most outfits up. I do not recommend, however, you wear high heels if you live in a very hilly/mountainous region and have to walk for more than an hour a day on the streets. It's one thing to know how to walk across your bedroom in heels, it's quite another to walk up and down a mountain range in heels. Heels from 2inches-2.5inches seem to be the best heels for everyday daytime wear, especially if you live in an area with hills and are lugging a huge backpack around. Vintage heels and heels sold on etsy seem to provide the most support in terms of a relatively low and chunky heel. 3-5 inch heels should be reserved for going out. Shoes with platforms will help ease the difficulty of walking in rather high heels. I have found the easiest way to look good while walking in heels is to swing your hips.

I'm actually quite shocked by that. I wouldn't think someone would stare at you for wearing heels even if they do make you slightly taller.

Anyways I say go for it, just be comfortable regardless of your height. Remember most of us girl will look at you with jealousy. I wish I was 5'8.
