i accidentally deleted a folder called "programs" on the start menu.
little did i know, my program shortcuts are gone.

it looks like this:

it's really hard to navigate cuz i don't have the shortcuts stored in my desktop to save space
and now the short cuts from the start menu is gone.
does anyone know how to retrieve them back?

can't you just right click on your desktop and undo delete?

have you checked you recycle bin?
if you can't find it there go here

dont think you can retrieve it. you have to redo all your shortcuts. the start menu location should be located in c:/documents and settings/yourusername/start menu/programs. just remake shortcuts of all your programs and drag it in there and it should work.
