it's humming when it's burning something or reading a file. It didn't use to do this... it can get quite loud.
should I care? get someone to look at it?

Dvd Drive Makes Weird Noises

means it's spinning faster then it usually is it should be gone after a while try using different media if the problem is still there
another case would be a loose screw inside your laptop/pc not the dvd drive
another case would be it's been working alot lately maybe give it a rest but the humming would go after a while i've had them a couple a times all went away when i gave it a rest

thanks for the responses. I usually burnt something daily... I gave it a rest. now it's fine
