i havent used the haptic so i wouldn't know.

in terms of looks...pretty close.

it has haptic feedback.

from what i hear, the haptic is a nice piece of smex but it's just a phone. the omnia (which i love..my sweet omnia) is a smartphone through and through. it's like carrying your office in your hand with all the music you'll ever listen to with it.

if you're looking for a majorly feature rich phone...then it's definitely worth it. if you just want a phone with maybe an mp3 player...you can get something cheaper.

BTW..when it hits the US...i wonder what they're taking out. 0__0

Sorry I can't really give you feedback or info on your question

But I plan on getting it when it comes out next month for Verizon (CDMA). It looks really awesome.. I wanted the Viewty originally but hopefully this will compare to it// be even better! smile.gif

^ depends. if you're more smartphone then omnia. if you're more photo and gimick (writing on the screen to edit photos and doodle)...then viewty.

they're two different phones for two different markets with two different kinds of consumers in mind.

I just hate to see what they remove from it...and then everyone with it...I hate having GSM phones that have CDMA versions. makes me itch.

it hasn't been released in america yet and seems like when it is, verizon is getting it (if you go by the pics released with the big ass verizon branding on it).

please don't spread incorrect info.

Looks likes the Haptic... sorta. But this phone's like a hand-held computer. It has Microsoft Office in it. :3 That's one of the perks I love about it. No need to kill my spine carrying a laptop to school. Oh and the haptic feedback of courseee. biggrin.gif

Anyway, to answer the OP's question... yes, it's an good awesome phone. Get it. ph34r.gif

The Omnia is about to be released in America, and it is coming to ATT as the Mirage i907.
However, the current Omnia CAN be used with ATT. Not very well, but it can still be used.

Verizon is getting it as well. They are developing a North American CDMA AND GSM version, not just a CDMA version. So, the information is technically correct.

^ yup thats true.
howardforums, phonearena, and phonedog are all talking about it. Verizon is getting the Omnia and they might change it a little (add on a qwerty) and name it the "saga".

i know it can be used on AT&T...i've done as much and it does actually work quite well (i assume in rural areas it wouldnt...what does?). I'm referring to a locked release with a brand. as such...at&t has given date after date for a 'possible' release and nothing is here. even your link there says oct. 21....well it's the 28th. so until this baby is out for purchase i do not consider as released and until i get something substantial it will be a rumor. at least verizon has pics of it's branded version for SOME sort of confirmation. thank you for trying to clear things up though.

still doesnt change the fact that everyone in this crap city will have my damn phone. i think i need a new one.

the i907 has come out for ATT, it is branded as the EPIX.. It isn't the Omnia. it is actually basically similar to the Blackjack with Omnia like features. It's big and heavy.

As for the Omnia coming to ATT, it is unknown if it is or not. They are to be coming out with the Eternity, which looks similar to the Samsung f480/Tocco. It will be replacing the Vu (Has Mobile TV access etc). It will not be windows mobile based. it will use samsung's touchwiz interface. not sure about haptic feedback or anything else. t-mobile also seems to be getting a phone similar to the tocco, it is known as the behold.

verizon looks like it will be the first US carrier to have the Omnia. no one knows if it will be a stripped down version or not. engadget is saying that it will be wi-fi enabled. so that's good news.
