i recommend jay chou for chinese songs.
Ting ma ma de hua is about listening to your mother. something like the things your mother make you do is good for your future. cherish her while she's still around.
his latest song Dao Xiang is about doing something about your life. dont wallow is sorrow, cos there are many people suffering in poverty and struggles for life.
S.H.E's lao po is about friends.

It's about how family and yourself and life and the world in general should come before love and you shouldn't let yourself be so upset by a broken heart

Slot Machine's "Hahk Chun Dtai (If I Die)" is about the only person who matters that they love you in your life is your mother, and no matter how much of a fight you get in or how distanced you've become, she'll forgive you and still love you
The music video's real pretty too~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDHjBdIrtBA

Brad Paisley - Letter To Me
- song of nostalgia, Paisley talks about the issues that were a concern to him when he was younger, and how they shouldn't have been important
Brad Paisley - Time Well Wasted
- talks about doing activities that are considered a waste of time (fishing with his dad, watching movies all day) instead doing things that are more productive like working overtime or fixing his car. But then he reconsiders and concludes it was "time well wasted".
Brad Paisley - He Didn't Have To Be
- an ode to step-fathers. It talks about how this kid's step-father acted like a real father to him, even though "he didn't have to be".
Brad Paisley - Mud On the Tires
- explains that in order to gain something or to get somewhere, sometimes you have to be willing to take risks and get your hands a little dirty
Brad Paisley - Find Yourself
- it's pretty self-explanatory
Brad Paisley - When I Get Where I'm Going
- a song about life and loss

country music in general seems to have good meaning in my opinion.. sure there is pop country these days like the rascal flatts, but for the most part its always about "friends, family, life, struggles" as mentioned. as far as meaningful music goes, i'd search generally for country and oldies.. where money isnt the artists main goal(like damn pop culture today).

justin nozuka- save me
Verse 1
She loves him more
He loves her more,
Seems like they won’t ever let each other go,
Laughing and kissing it’s a match made in heaven
Behind the rings on their fingers
Imprints the ink deep in the inner
That has stained their souls together now
Stained soul mates forever now
Seems like they’ve made it to the other side where the grass is greener
And the sky is always blue
And it goes on forever and ever but there is only room for two
Deep at night I’m awakened from my dreams,
Next door, yelling cries mercy she is begging please
“Don’t end my life you’re all I need and darling I will never leave”
And then she prayed on her knees, she said
Chorus
“Save him, save him from the hand he that beats me on” (Repeat 4 Times)
Verse 2
Dark clouds cover her paradise,
She covers her eyes and hides behind enemy lines,
And she walks through the night with her child in her arms
She’s thrown back hostage’d
See twenty years ago when she was just ten years old
Lost in imagination she was left alone
And pops had nothing to let his anger on oh he beat her cold
She used to pray on her knees, she said
Chorus
Deep at night I’m awakened from my dreams,
Next door - yelling cries mercy she’s begging please,-
“Get up, get up”, he brings her to her feet,
And smacks her down till she falls to the ground
And over and over again,
He brings her to her feet till she can no longer stand –
And still the beating never ends
On and on and on it goes
Until he brings out a gun
And says to her “stop crying and bring me my son”
She cries harder and harder
He cries harder and harder
She says “baby please don’t do this”
Two shots to her chest
And a blow to his own head
She quickly loses breath and blood rushes to their bed and baby cries his eyes out
Chorus
Outro
She loves him more
He loves her more,
Seems like they won’t ever let each other go,
Laughing and kissing it’s a match made in heaven

justin nozuka- oh mama
(Verse1)
Give me that line again-
He’s not coming home again tonight
Momma wipe those tears from your cheeks
It don’t make no difference now
Remind me one last time that you won’t ever go
Oh the whales can’t swim without the tide,
And birds won’t fly without the stars in the sky
(Chorus)
I can’t feel without your touch
I can’t dream without your smile
I can’t live without your love (Oh Momma)
I cannot fall without your hand
I can’t cry without your arms
I can’t live without your love (Oh Momma)
(Verse2)
Give me that song again,
Hold me closer than you ever did before
When I’ve given all I’ll give you more
We’ll keep on floating to the shore
You can take a storm and turn it all around and then the sun shines through
Oh the story of your life
We have all been designed
but you’re as real on the outside
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
See when it all comes back around
And he still can’t figure out how he let you get away
You just keep your head up high
And know it’s better off that way

Justin Nozuka- No Heaven
young brother hand me the gun
on with it, off with it
i'm burning strong like the sun
i do believe, it's time for me
it's gonna hurt, but then i'm free
and i will be in heaven, with the angels
flying over water, i am free
there will be no darkness, no pain
and young brother right when i'm done
follow me, so we can be together
watch me as i put it to my head
hold my hand, don't turn your head
don't turn your head
soon i will be in heaven, with the angels
flying over water, i am free
there will be no darkness, no pain
the pain will be gone
and the anger will be gone
the depression will be gone
only love from everyone
soon as i pass one
ten, nine, eight
seven, six, five
four, three, two
---
one
---
oh old brother, what have you done
oh old brother, what have you done--
what if there's no heaven, and you find yourself alone, walking through a tunnel and everyone has gone
---
and betrayed by the one
and you are conscious in your grave
brother what then
if there is no heaven
Justin Nozuka- Down in a cold dirty well
(Intro)
Painted a picture of how it’s supposed to turn out
Down in a cold dirty well and I cannot climb out
Can’t see no light
Can’t hear no bells
They walk right over me
Can’t hear my yells
(Verse 1)
They state me missing and search all over the town
Look left and then right but don’t ever look down
Dig me my grave, I won’t be saved
No I won’t be saved, so dig me my grave
(Chorus)
Helpless, Hopeless,
Cold and lonely
Only you can save me now
Trembling and shivering, scared
I want this all to end if only you could hear me now
(Verse 2)
My mind is spinning around and around
I’m on my way down
The louder I yell
The deeper I sink
Closer to hell
Far from my instincts
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
I’m on my way down,
And I will never feel that beat again
I will never see the light and I will never hear those bells ringing
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Dig me my grave, cause I won’t be saved
I won’t be saved so dig me my grave
Down in a cold dirty well and I cannot climb out

Sadly almost all of my other songs are either love songs or songs that I don't/can't understand.
(Oh and there's that song by Rob Thomas for Meet the Robinsons - I forgot the title but anyway - it was pretty good, too.)
