im trying to find out the TRUE meaning to JS song one step at a time. I think the song is about trying ot reach your dream and how you will get rejected but have to be patient and wait, taking one step at a time. However, my sister heard on the radio that the song is about a relationship where the boy is trying to get it with the girl but the girl is saying to slow down and stuff. WHAT DOES THE SONG REALLY MEAN!!!!!! PLEASE HELP~ THANK YOU!

How you interpret the song may not be what another person interprets it.
And vice versa.

Yeah it's open to a variety of interpretations. One interpretation is that she talks about making it in the music industry. (Well that's like "following your dreams", but it's more specific). I think it's more about that than about a potential relationship though, because one of the lines in the song is "It's like learning to fly / Or falling in love". So "falling in love" isn't meant to be taken literally--it's a simile.
