ive used both brands. Nokia N95 and Samsung U700. im currently using the N95
in looks and designs samsung wins hands down but actually components such as camera, music Nokia is better (but designs are usually bulky or not as elegant). i get a lot of compliments for my samsung one.
however i had the touchscreen samsung phone which was really annoying at times if i accidently touch something at the wrong time.

Also the paint of the samsung phone began to peel in about 5months and i took care of it really well. my friend had the same phone and after a month the finish was scrapped off so badly. my nokia i just chuck it around everywhere in my bag and dont even have a cover and its still perfect. Ive even dropped it a couple of times too.

i've also used both brands, but they weren't exactly the same phone category though, so it wouldn't be a fair comparison. u600 is rather mid-end phone while n95 is high-end phone.

I had the u600 and now using n95 8gb... well i can say that samsung has better designs, but their functionality is really bad if you're looking to customize your handset, you cant install anything at all on the phone, except music, and pictures, and perhaps some PDF/microsoft office files depending on the phone. with n95, sure it's really ugly, its huge as a brick, very thick, but its really worth it. Camera, screen (best screen i ever used, you can use it in direct sun light and still see clearly), keypad, everything seems to be top notch. The only bad thing would be battery, its horrible if you use it on 3G, music, and some internet, i can't even last one full day if i use it a lot lol.

I hate any nokia phone's. It doesn't reach my standard and it feels like their behind on the new "it" phones.
I love Samsung though <333

But right now, I have a Sony Ericsson and it's just lovely.
LG phones are the best to my standards.

i like sony ericssons. i think nokia are known to be the most sturdy, reliable. but with aesthetics, i think nokia is too behind.
so far sony ericssons look nice AND last.
personally i think samsungs & motorolas are the worst. i dont think im ever going to get a samsung/moto ever again. they break within a year.

I think I like Sony the best. Nice features and reasonable pricing.

i've been using nokia since i've first had a cell phone, and it's the only phone brand i would use, i had a Nokia E65 and it's been great til i really messed it up, on my own, but it's a great and sturdy phone, i've had my E65 for about 2 years and it was doing wonders, but i'm plannin on getting a N76 soon, hopefully, i've tried samsung, but it doesn't meet my standards, it looks nice but i like the features better then the design on a phone rolleyes.gif

I love Sony Ericsson phones, Nokias are also good, but they haven't released anything "original" lately, per say.

Sony Ericsson has the best and most unique phones out there, but I would not
say that they are the best cell phone brand.

Nokia is dominating all brands because they sell like crazy.
Although Nokia has very boring designs, the functionality is all that matters when
it comes down to which one is the best. Most Nokia phones are
Smartphones compared to SE which they have a lot of feature phones.
And most Nokia phones have WIFI which is a major PLUS for selling a phone.

I also think that HTC [Taiwanese company] is jumping in with the big leads.
Releasing amazing conceptual phones like the Touch HD and the SE XPERIA
[SE did not make the Xperia, just designed it]
this company is on the role.

Id say Nokia and Sony have the best functionality. Its more open ended and reliable as well. Samsungs are alright but they focus a lot on looks then functionality.

really? my sony ericsson messed up TWICE on me. the same phone model (w580i). lovely design but a lot of their phones have the same 'concept style' and i'm starting to dislike it after both of mine broke.
i'd say samsung is pretty good. =)
not many problems like ever. haha.
i haven't owned one myself but from what i see through my friends (who all have samsungs), they don't mess up easily and the designs are sleek and really nice. ^^

i currently just bought a nokia..it should be arriving soon. although its an older model (2006) i heard good reviews. the designs aren't really updated but you can definitely rely on the quality of a nokia phone.

depends on what you're looking for, what you style is and how you treat your phones.

i mean people have stated samsung phones suck because they break....they're phones. they're delicate pieces of electronic goodness...not a damn brick (thats what nokia phones are for and have always been for).

I personally use samsung and sony phones for my non-jp phone goods. More samsung. The style is sexy and thats what i look for because I know I wont be throwing my phone around and putting it in situations where it will break. i have like 15 cells sitting in a drawer, 13 are samsung and they all work perfectly....some 5 years later.

and thats enough defending the samsung line. anyway....like i first said...it depends on what you want and how you treat your things. if you're rough...nokia. if you want sleek design....usually samsung. if you want music based...sony has some nice phones for that. either way there will always be great phones and sucky phones in all the brands out there. it should be more about device for you, less about brand.

but i agree with an above poster....moto=devil stay far away

I used to use the old nokia, i love them but the latest designs of nokia are just not my type. I don't like them =p although they may be reliable. I'm happy with my samsung, i owned 2 samsung and currently i'm using a samsung as well. A lot of my friends compliment on my phone for its sleek design, the case color doesn't fade away, same goes to my old samsung phone... i dropped them a few times but they're not spoiled, it's a good brand.

I've had my Samsung D600 for almost 3 years and it still works fine... So I guess it just depends on how you handle your phone. I've only dropped it a couple of times. :x I've had Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones before, but I think I'm getting another Samsung phone if I ever replace the one I have right now because I really like how sleek it is and how it's still functional after all these years. ^^

I've only used 3 different phones. 2 Samsungs and 1 Nokia.

I had a basic Nokia phone, it's easier to use, but crapped out on me (lol mind you I dropped it 4 stories on concrete). It looked alright, but internally was messed up.
The Samsungs have better battery life. My current phone is Samsung sph-m620. It's hard to use because you can flip it over.
