COLIN FARRELL lived on black coffee, Diet Coke and two tins of tuna a day to perfect a skeletal look on the set of new movie TRIAGE.
The Irish actor shed 44 pounds (19.9 kilograms) for the movie and admits his decision wasn't "healthy" or "advisable".
And he needed the caffeine just to get the energy boost he needed to act.
He says, "It was kind of depressing... For a short space of time, it was grand. It was just calorie counting wasn't a particularly healthy way of doing it."
And Farrell insists it wasn't hard to put the weight back on: "I just ate like a pig."

gosh that's creepy. yeah it's for a role but so unhealthy. besides it looks unappealing

well, he's pretty dedicated. Christian Bale once dropped loads of pounds for a role he had too.

^lol! i didnt even see that at all.

was this a while back? because i think in recent pictures he looks kinda chunky.
i guess he put the weight back on real quick

That was The Machinist. He looked like a freaking skeleton in the pictures, much worse than Colin Farrell here.

Didn't Christian Bale do something similar to this? But that movie was LONG ago, and he had to build his body for his role for the Batman movies.

I'm glad that he's back to his normal eating habits since the last words suggest it.
And thank goodness its only for a movie role.
