I'm not trying to be mean (or funny) but my friend smells....shes in my room right now stinking up the place.....and its unbearable!!!.....a lot of other people also think this too. There're always bugging us to tell her about it....Is it any of my business? Should I tell her? how would i confront the situation in the nicest way possible? I don't want it put her in any awkward situation.........i'm just trying to look out for her as a friend.....ya know?

I'm in need of SERIOUS advice quick.....please it's NOW or NEVER

Buy her one of those body wash/shampoo/perfume set as a gift.
She'll cherish it and use it.. er, at least I hope.

give her subtle hints or,
if she's the type that doesn't mind
talk to her straight on.

if all prevails,

take a deodarant to school and ask

'you want to try it? it smells reaaaally nice~' laugh.gif

start talking about buying air fresheners/candles/home fragances for the place...move onto stuff like perfumes/shampoo/shower gels/body spray/etc

intrigue her into buying something for the smell...like an eau de parfum perfume...

but on the serious note, keep things light, you never know if she's actually really conscious about this

I've never had the guts to. Being me, if I said that someone smelt in the most polite way it'd still be interpreted as me being slack and harsh because people know me for my harshness, lol. I don't want to hurt her feelings either so I kind of just put up with the smell and if it gets really bad I kind of just distance myself away from her (physically).

edit;
maybe you should confront her privately and tell her in the most nice and polite way that she has an odour and that you completely understand it isn't her fault but you just wanted to let her know so she could be aware of the problem. It's hard to say it I know, but maybe just give it a try?

My uncle had a friend who smelt pretty bad.
And he got fed up with it and one day he said "Man you STINK!"
His friend went to the doctor and turned out he had a medical condition...no idea what it was though.
And his friend told him "Thanks for telling me" not sarcastically.

I agree. Try and do it in the nicest, most polite way possible, and make it known that you're telling her because you care.

Also, is this smell like..a body odour smell? 'cause if it's body odour, I vaguely remember learning in school that using perfume will not cover it up.

Oh dear.. ><;; if it gets really bad, maybe you can say 'woah, look at this new perfume I just bought! Try it!' and spray her all over before she gets the chance to reply ^^
To be honest, I'd like to know how to tell someone too.. I have two guy friends who smell quite bad :-( they're really nice, but they always give me a hug, and I always have to hold my breath when they do :-(

i think it depends on her personality ... if you know that she can handle critics, then just tell her! otherwise tell her something like her skin would look better if she took the shower more often XD i dont know hahaha

I don't see there is any other way but being direct with her. Just tell her that she has a strong odor and it should be taken care of.

If my friend stank of body odour, I'd jokingly spray them with deodorant and told them they're sweating ;P
and stinking up my room, well.. that's if I'm good friends with them,
I wanna save them the embarrassment and tell them before a stranger or their enemy tells them.

i'd tell him/her because being a good friend, i wouldn't want them to embarrass themselves.
