Hello everyone~ My name is Cara and I've actually been lurking around the performers thread for a while now and I just managed to gather up the courage now to post. I present you two songs~ Actually I consider it one and a half. One is Jessica Zaragosa's cover of Utada Hikaru's "First Love" which is in English, and the other is Boa's famous "Eat You Up" song in acapella because I cannot find an instrumental version of it. Please enjoy and review. Oh dear, posting for the first time here is a bit freaky. @_@
BoA - Eat You Up (Acapella Cover by Cantabile)
First Love (English Cover by Cantabile)
First Love Lyrics:
Once in a while
You are in my mind
I think about the days that we had and I
Dream if this would all come back to me
If only you knew every moment in time
Love lingers on in my heart
Just like your memories
How I want here to be with you
Once more
You are always gonna be the one
And you should know
How I wish I could have never let you go
Come into my life again
Oh don't say no
You are always gonna be the one
In my life
So true I believe I can never find
Somebody like you - my first love
Once in a while
You are in my dreams
I can feel the warmth of your embrace
And I pray that one day you'd come back to me
If only you knew every moment in time
Love lingers on in my heart
Just like your memories
How I want here to be with you
Once more
You will always be inside my heart
And you should know
How I wish I could have never let you go
Come into my life again
Please don't say no
Now and forever you are still the one
In my heart
So true I believe I can never find
Somebody like you - my first love
You are always gonna be the one
And you should know
How I wish I could have never let you go
Come into my life again
Oh don't say no
You are always gonna be the one
So true
I believe I can never find
Now and forever... Love

The tone in your voice is very beautiful, and have potential to be a great singer
One thing you need to work on I suppose is getting the pitch/hitting the notes of the melody.
Keep up the good work~~

Hello!
Your "Eat You Up" cover caught my attention x]
You kinda sound like you're following the song? Like maybe with head phones or something? Are you?
But your voice DOES have a LOTTTT of potential. I wish my voice was that rich and strong. xD
However, I have to agree with the others that your pitch (and tune, even) are completely off. I believe you were on tune for the most part, but your pitch changed a lot, So it was offkey and sounds like you weren't on the same tune. But it's probably nothing that a little ear training won't fix, unless you're tone deaf (but only like... 2% of the WORLD truly is... So I doubt it). Perhaps, if you know how to play an instrument (like piano), you can use it to sing scales and practice listening out notes and pitch? Like do re mi fa so la ti do XD
Good job! :]

Oh dear, I'm considering that maybe I am tone deaf.
O.O;;
I wasn't following the song for Eat You Up, that's why in the end I think I added one more stanza of the chorus than I needed to. But I really appreciate all the comments and critiques. I'll try and hit the right notes next time as well as working on my pitch/tone. But hearing that I have at least some potential makes me happy.

Your voice is very alto-ish and its the voice i like to hear in girls alot hehe~
But you really need to put emotions when singing.
Like the Eat You Up one you need to be more umm...ummphh!
And for the First Love you need to make it more sad feeling...
There were quite a few flat notes here and there and you didn't really stay in tune.
Your voice is kind of how do i say not very well controlled?
Very pitchy and it didn't flow/blend well, you were behind the music a lot in First Love.
I don't know if you would call this tone deaf, but if you work at it, it can be fixed so don't worry.
Keep trying and you'll improve.

Despite, so many comments saying how you're out of tune. I particulary like your version of "eat you up", keep up the good work. Practice more and you'll improve for sure!

Yeah, your eat you up caught my attention xP
you have a nice voice, powerful and clear.
but like everyone said, its completely out of tune.
maybe you were listening to the song, and didnt hear your own voice (because of headphone)?
sometimes that happened to me xO
