I do plan to visit the doctor~ but I was wondering if anyone has experienced heavy menstrual periods (clumps of blood, nonstop bleeding)? I read about it online... and it's due to hormonal imbalance or something~~ I think stress is causing this to happen~ but I am not sure because I've had it before and I don't remember being stressed. If you've experienced this, please tell me a little more about what steps you took to make it stop being abnormal. It's really inconvenient to me... I have to constantly go to the restroom and often it bleeds through my clothes and onto my bed too (when sleeping)! Please share your experience if possible. Thanks!

I had this problem, but I also didn't have regular periods, so I visited the gynecologist about the latter issue. It's best if you go and get a check-up (they aren't pleasant, of course, but you're doing yourself some good by getting a check-up); it probably is due to hormonal imbalance, and they'll give you the Pill to take. It's supposed to make periods lighter (and regular). I've been taking it for a little over a month and my periods are still heavy, but the info sheet said that the lighter and regular periods will become a normal thing after 2 months or so of taking the Pill.
I don't think you have to continue taking it once your hormones are balanced again, so you probably won't have to take the Pill for long. Just go visit the gynecologist!

Did you go during your period? Is the examination possible if you are on it?

Noo, it's not. I should have pointed that out in my earlier post.
Wait until you are not on it anymore then go get examined. Or schedule an appointment now but make it at a later date. (Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.)

Oh yes ;( This happened during summer school so school lasted for 5 hourse with one break. On the first break as I stood up, I felt a rush of blood leaving me, oh GOD it was like water! I was so scared. I kinda felt it stained my pants (I wore a pad in the morning) but I was really scared, I asked a girl near me if it leaked and my fears were confirmed as she said yes.
I twisted my body around just to see the blood now soaked to my mid-thigh ;((.
Luckily I had my thin jacket with me and wrapped it around my waist as I sprint to the restroom.
I didn't have a cell phone to call my mom, even if I did, I couldn't call anyone. My family were all at work. ;(
So I changed my pad and hope it would eventually stop.
But after school I stood up and OMGOSH Blood litterally rushed out like water, it seeped thru the seat and everything, the pad didn't even work! I died a little. ;(

Sorry for the long post.
That was the absolute WORST period I ever had. But that was when my periods weren't regular yet. And I didn't change my diet or do anything unsual.
Thank GOD it was a one time thing. How long since you have your period? Maybe it's only like that in the beginning when it's not regular yet. But if it happens again, you should visit a doctor.

I had the same experienced too *__*
It was probably in middle school (grade 6?) when it was the heaviest for me. It felt like it lasted for like 2 weeks, T____T! I couldn't even walk or sit without feeling scared that it would leak >__>

though, that was when i had just had my period, so i guess yours might not be regular yet? =___=

I have this problem and been having this problem every time I have my period since high school. I have been some kind of hormonal imbalance. I was on the pill briefly and now my cramps aren't as painful anymore.

Ugh, I have an irregular cycle.
So I don't know when I have my period.
I make sure to have a pad with me.
I have to make sure that I have well decorated my undie >.<
One huge pad and 2 panty liners...
ugh sometimes I feel that a diaper would be much better
I stop bleeding in 4-5 days.
I bleed a lot but sometimes just for one day or two, i don't bleed much...
When I first got my period, it was heavier >.<
A good week of bleeding. Cramps sometimes.
Everybody lies

I have this bloody insane problem too and I think this might be the cause of making me an anemic. I get nonstop flows especially during the second and third days, I can't stop going to the toilet! Then I found out from my mom that I was drinking too much cold stuff so I cut short on my coldness intake when I have my periods the next month, my periods happened to be lesser than before.

My period is also irregular so I don't know when I have it, so I'm always caught off guard >__<
They used to be really heavy too. I remember everytime in middleschool, some would leak onto my pants or something.
But since highschool, it's gotten way better. My periods are shorter and it's not as heavy.

I also found out that my period heaviness changes as the season changes. It's really odd.. Does anyone else feel that way?

ohmmyygoshhh ohmy.gif
Bad times. Bad times.

It just happened to me in Feb. 2008.
I had clumps (like you said ) of blood on my pad and my pad was always full of blood, I had to change more constantly.
And I literally felt the clumps of blood coming out.. ph34r.gif

It was horrible, everytime I slept there would be at least some kind of stain on my bed (Solution- I put a towel underneath where I was sleeping)
I used so much ...PADS. I used extra big ones too.

And I just didn't feel comfortable in light coloured jeans or any tight jeans at all.
Cause I was always afriad of people seeing blood coming out.

AND. plus to all this suffering..I had the worst cramps ever.
My mum , who is a doctor gave me a a plastic thing that was filled with hot water. And said to put it near my tummy.
And I was covered in warm blankets in front of the TV. It was heaven.

Then we went to her hospital to check it out.
It was horrible..
I think it ended after 3 weeeks of torture.
huhuhu

Oh man Ive had this before many many times. tears.gif
The clotting is the worst.
Id soak through the biggest tampon they make at the SAME TIME as soaking through the thickest pad they make.
Id ruined so many pairs of pants and undies that way.. and it was so embarrassing.
It actually used to cause me to become anemic, and Id have to take iron supplements ~!

But I was put on birth control for just a month, and it stopped doing it. Some girls it takes longer, or it never goes away.
Sadly Ive had a few since then, but not as frequent as they were when I was like 16.

i have an irregular cycle, too..
my ob-gyne told me that i have some small stones in my ovaries, they're harmless, though..
she said i should lose weight so that i'll have a regular cycle..
worked out, but i guess you just have to see your ob-gyne about it.. ^^

I know exactly what you mean. I have really heavy periods on my 2nd day to the point where every single time I get up i'm so worried that i'm going to leak and the sad thing is, I usually do. I change my pad A LOT of times throughout the day. I have extreme PMS before I start my period and just ... ugh. I don't know what to do. sleep.gif

I'm sorry for hijacking this thread but I had one quick question.
For those of you who have regular cycles .. does that mean you know EXACTLY what day you guys will start your period? mellow.gif
Some say i'm a genius, others say i'm crazy
but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

Yeah I had it for a few years when I first started having my period, I also have irregular period. After a few years past the period became lighter, it's not that big of a deal to have heavy period, if you stop having a period then you should worry.
