QUOTE (Shale from IDWF)
Deepest apologies for such a morose first topic/post on the forums. And...erm...posting it in the correct section this time. Whoops.
Last night, everyone's favourite scumbags decided my Impreza would be a fun new toy to add to the parts collection - they stole it from outside my bedroom window during the night, and managed to wreck our iron gate in the process; motor is stuffed.
Worst thing is that my other car is currently one gearbox short of 'motive power', so getting to work is going to be...challenging.
For anyone that's up here in Auckland: keep your eyes peeled for what at first appears to be a grey (Blue Steel) version 6 STi; it's distinctive because not only does it have foglamps and WRX wheels, on closer inspection one will note it also has small brakes and sounds a bit like a large Honda.
Say what?
Yeah. Joke's on the thieves; it's an HX20s with an epic body kit on it! The HX20s is a non-turbo, AWD 2.0L Impreza that makes around 130-150hp - nothing remarkable. It sounds okay, it goes okay, handles well and is very light on the gas - mine happened to look gorgeous too. Thank god I held off on putting the new Brembos and ver8 gearbox in, or I would have been REALLY gutted. It had a high-compression EJ22 planned for it too; once again, so glad that if it had to be stolen, it happened BEFORE all the goodies went in.
And to clarify, yes, it did have an alarm. Unfortunately it was a Mongoose...not the best at stopping thieves.
Distinctive features:
- Version 6 body kit, only with foglamps and dark silver WRX wheels
- Clear side and bumper indicators
- Blue version 9 bucket seats
- bevelled, blue-tipped 5Zigen muffler (on that note, has equal length headers so no burble)
- not remarkably low, but STi-Showa shocks are brutally hard...
- smaller than normal brakes - it's non-turbo
- has GDB-style 'WRX' and 'STi' badges on bootlid (hush, that's my dose of rice)
Plate: DBW116
Please please please, if you see this vehicle around, report it to the Police. It's not worth much, but it's all sentimental value. This piece of slow N/A has kept me alive for three years now, and I'm one very depressed chick without my first-born son
Thank you so much in advance, and once again sorry for the lame-as-heck first post.
