MBC Drama, 'My Name Is Kim Sam Soon' that starred Kim Sun Ah and Hyun Bin is undergoing a Hollywood Remake. American Television network, NBC TV secured the rights to produce the remake as a prime time series.

Korean movies such as 'Il Mare' 'My Sassy Girl' and others have undergone Hollywood remakes before but this will be the first time that a remake drama will be televised.

Recently a NBC TV official visiting Korea revealed, "The preparation for My Name Is Kim Sam Soon remake is under way, the casting is in it�s last phase, with the script and other things revised, the plan is to begin production as early as next year."

if its for tv i dun see why it can't work... i mean it worked for the Office
and they would have more time to develop the characters etc...

It's gonna be a tv series, which I don't really get, because if it gets really popular, they're probably gonna do season two, season three, etc...

hmmm. well this is something i never expected...
MNIKSS was my first and is my favorite korean drama.
i'm not to sure how i feel about this remake. i would much rather it just be the original than a remake.
i wonder who the cast will be and i hope this doesn't ruin the original.

MNKISS is based on Bridget Jones Diary so I could see westerners liking it. I saw this over at dramabeans. The pilot hasn't been made, I don't think. NBC hasn't picked it up, and even if they did, it could be canceled before it even air.

Oh gosh. I dunno if they can pull it off. I think most people will probably compare it to Bridget Jones...

are they making it into a series or what? how are they going to stretch the storyline for longer than say, 16 episodes???
