what happens when your cell phone carrier is 850z band frequency but you buy a unlocked triband phone? will it still work???
has anyone who have at&t get a triband unlocked phone before?

Yes I had a unlock tri-band on AT&T before...it was the Sony Ericson w800i
I had really good coverage the 1st year I had it, but then it started to drop all the time. I think it was because they had recently updated some of their towers.
Anyhoo AT&T mainly uses 850 band so if your phone does not have it you may be in for some tough times with calls dropping and such. When my phone was having issues I went to the store to see if there was anything they could do and they pretty much said they couldn't.
I think it is best to check out your area first see if there are others who have AT&T with a tri-band phone. Sometimes different areas will have better coverage than others.
