Has anyone had any experiences with it? If so did you see any significant results?

^ Protein powder alone is pretty useless and if you have alot of protein and hardly work out, you may end up with alot of spots as the body get a build up of toxins, the liver and kidneys will try to deanimate the excess protein and produce alot of toxic ketones/ammonia/urea.

To be honest you should just eat more meat, fish, dairy, eggs and pulses, which has less artificial preservatives and chemicals.

You have to work 3 days hard for significant weight gain just don't go crazy and exceed 30% calories from protein or else the next thing you know is that you'll have spots and protein in your urine + kidney problems.

once a week= maintenance
twice a week= some gain
three times a week= gain

I use a mixture of whey and soy protein powder daily, but... yeah. Gotta work out 3+ times a week for results.

(Right about to the point between highly unpleasant and screaming.)

yeh protein powder is useless if you dont exercise. it creates muscle mass... so you'd need to pump those muscles in the first place.

i used to take about 3 x 30g worth of powder a day. mornings, after workout, nightime.

you dont need protein powder really, you can find high natural sources of protein in like tuna, steak etc.

yea right now i'm working out roughly 2~3 times a week, i've worked out during the summer w/o protein powder and didn't see any significant mass gain but i've been staking up the weights on my exercises, went from 60 pounds to 200 pounds in bench pressing 5 sets of 5s. Now i've been hearing all these negatives of protein powder, ugh spots and build of toxins ohmy.gif

^ its not really negative. its just if you take alot of protein powder and dont do anything with it.

but if you exercise and work the protein properly you have nothing to worry about.

spots etc are probably temporary at worst. i mean protein cant kill you.

Actually, if you drink adequate water every day (2 litres +) the negatives should get balanced out as you're constantly flushing your kidneys and stuff.

Yes, you will most likely get better results if you take protein powder, but of course only if you are working out. Protein helps repair your muscles faster after working out and helps you build muscles also. And it is completely safe, unless you take like 5712952 buckets of whey everyday; but of course anything in excess can be harmful. Protein powder alone won't give you results, you also have to eat properly and be training hard enough.

Protein powder acts as a meal replacement there generally are 2-3 types - one to gain, one to lean, one to maintain ~ the variety is some are beefed up with lots of vitamins, extra aminos, etc ~ muscletech tends to infuse all their products with as many things as possible ~ if you have a sensitive digestive tract you are better off going with a simple whey isolate from companies such as Optimum Nutrition, Biotest, or any other well known company ~

Generally if you can't get enough protein with your 4-5-6 meals or more ~ then you should use a powder format to be able to get enough nutrients in per day ~ It has been researched that you can get away with .6 of your body-weight though most magazines recommend 1gram per lb of bodyweight!

protein powder isnt bad for you at all.

There is many benefits and uses for protein powder.

Whether it is for gain/recover/strengthen/build/repair muscles.

Protein powder is a must if your a bodybuilder, and it will help you alot when you workout.

You are suppose to take 1g of protein per body weight (like if your 160LBS, take 160g of protein daily.)

You get proteins from your food too so your suppose to do the math on it.

I've taken protein powder for a long time and let me tell you i've gotten great results, and better workouts.

You can also take it if you don't get enough protein throughout the day

you should try it :]
