yeah his spanish pronunciation is good or he practiced it a lot to said señorita instead of senorita. to me it is an easy sound, and i don't understand why some people have a lot of problems to pronounce the letter Ñ.

Definitely not. No foreign stars are more popular than local stars here in Thailand...of course, there's always a "language barrier" between Asian countries. Popular local artists usually sell about 500,000 - 1,000,000 copies per album (in the MP3 era) while popular foreign artists can sell only about 50,000 - 150,000 copies per album. Golf-Mike will certainly bring Yamapi more well-known in Thailand. Just in this week, GM have brought the name, Yamapi, up on Thai TV news for over 6 times as we're talking about one of the hottest artists here. (GM won Popular artist of the Year early this year and last month they also grapped an award for Most Popular Breakthrough Artist from Channel [V] Awards.) And I bet Kitty GYM's song will be the best-selling JE's single ever in Thailand.

I don't know how you came up with the idea.

P.S. This is not to offend 'cause I whole-heartedly agree that Yamapi is so hot and very talented but I just want to clarify about the market strategy that JE are doing.

uh? I didn't say Yamapi was more popular, I say he might be more like by THai people. THere is a difference there. What I say was nothing really bad about Golf and Mike.

Didn't Golf and Mike made into front page newspaper with Yamapi? And Didn't Golf and Mike was on tV in Japan with Yamapi? It's the same as Golf and Mike brought the name Yamapi to Thai tv. It's a both side. Yamapi is known by Thai fans and Golf and mike is known by Japanese Fans but both of them are not yet have fame in that country.

I'm not going to say that this single will be best selling in Japan nor Thailand because I have to see the result first. Even though in the past Yamapi's both Single Seishun Amigo and Daite Senorita have sold a lot.

And I think more of Yamapi's fans is shocked and still shocked and still coudn't accept (it's different from supporting) this temporary group than GM's fans. I can't accept this temporary group but I support this group. I have nothing against Golf and Mike. In other word I do like them but just not into them. This temporary group really shocked me deeply. Even Yamapi's Thai fans couldn't accept it. Some accept is but many didn't. But they're trying their best to support Yamapi and will not talk bad about GM.

The number of copies sold I posted above was the matter of estimation because they never told how many exactly artists have sold. But foreign artists' always report their selling figures in Thailand at around 50,000-150,000 per album....I haven't heard they can do more than that....Rain's album has sold here 150,000. But in contrast, if a Thai artist can sell only 150,000, that's called "a flop" and will be definitely turn down by the record companies on the next release but hey....GM are having 2 full albums waiting!

It seems that you've been receiving one-sided info from Thai ppls who don't like GM. Well, nevermind. But, do you think JE would group up Yamapi with non-profitable artists ? Aren't they smart enough ? Would you want to sell your music to Thai Yamapi's fans who don't like GM....OR...sell your music to the overall Thai people ?

And for your factial information, Yamapi hasn't officially released a single here so this will be his first time in Thai music market. (And I hope his previous releases will follow.)

maybe it is just me but both of you are sayin the same things with different words. both yamapi and GM will receive benefits from this unit. yamapi will be more known in thailand and GM will be more known in japan. its imposible to think that either of them will be more popular than the other in their own countries. i mean during their Kitty GYM activities GM will be the popular ones in thailand while yamapi will be the japanese guy next to them, and in japan it will be all yamapi and GM will be the 2 thai guys.

Asia is such a difficult market because of language barriers, unlike america were we only speak 3 language english, spanish and portuguese... and if you know spanish you understand portuguese and viceversa because they sound similar.

What? I never say Yamapi sell a lot in Thailand and that international artist sell more in Thailand. I might not made myself clear but I was saying Yamapi single sold a lot in Japan.

Of Course, I would love the album to sell it to the overall fans.

In conclusion, both side have the benefit.

What I say by like is that many Thai fans already like Yamapi before he was even in news with Golf and Mike. Even Golf and Mike's Thai fans know who the heck Yamapi is. Soon after the single come out he then will be popular in Thailand, I hope. And by popular is that right now Golf and Mike is popular in Thailand (I never denied that case) because they're new and they're the trend in Thailand. It's just the same in Japan, Yamapi is popular but Golf and Mike is well like by Japanese fans too but they're not yet popular. That is why Johnny said that Golf and Mike is not yet popular so this will be a good project for them.

Of course JE wouldn't group Yamapi with some non-profitable artist.
