I guess silly is a good word.

But honestly am I the only one whose noticed how international fans of kpop have become lately?

I remeber back when international fans didn't even care or know what or whose fan club was called what in Korea, I can't even name H.O.T's fan club or BabyVox' fan club or balloon color or any of the stuff that I'm sure they had lol, and now it seems as if international fans believe they're apart of these fan clubs and are bent on holding up some kind of reputation.

I mean theres nothing wrong with being IN a fan club but really when you start acting a certain way just to uphold some reputation of it, it's just...eh.. blink.gif

Maybe it's just me but that seems really corny, what the hell kind of fan club has a 'reputation'? lol I know SUJU fans have always had a bad rep. even in Korean media because of their extreme actions, but I'm not talking about those sort of fan clubs, just normal ones..not huge cult-like ones.

I mean when did this start? lol, sure fan clubs have shown us in the past year that they can infact become organized and literally kill entire concerts when they want to, but that is nothing to get all.....nutty about as Intl. fans.

It just seems a bit silly to me.
I think international fans need to learn their place again, we're outsiders, we don't make a difference IN korea, and nothing you say here is going to turn a whole other fan club on you or whoever your choose to be a fan of, lol. Nothing you say here is going to put your idols or favourite singer at risk for a anti fan attack or boycott, whatever.

Korean fan clubs really couldn't care less about international fans.

Theres really no need to be so annoying and watch everything you say simply because you're scared of what some international fans, like yourself think of 'your' fan club. The only reason anyone here should be watching what they say is to follow the rules of Soompi, not to try to potray some corny ass reputation that a fan club all the way in Asia is 'known' for.

Korean fan clubs are becoming way too organized for their own good.
And international fans are becoming way too caught up in their cult-like fan culture.

Hope I made myself clear here..I tend to ramble about crap like this. wacko.gif

What do you guys think? mellow.gif

Anytime I write anything true here it's bashing. rolleyes.gif even though I've never personally insulted anyone here.

When I personally insult you, a celeb. or anyone here that's when it's bashing.

K thanks bye.

amen. (won't retype everything you wrote though i agree with just about everything unlike others)

another thing i've noticed about int. fans - we can't seem to critique or even have a critical discussion about artists without being called bashers. we've become SO pc to the point where we just need to chill - you should stop caring when others say something even remotely negative about your "babies"; it ain't gonna make a difference for anyone or their reputation only more immature on your part

How is that in the quote bashing? lol

WHY would Korean fan clubs care about International fans? blink.gif it's not as if they need you for anything anyways.

That's just the truth, not an insult to you, them or any star.

Half the time when some Korean blog quotes english stuff from intl. fans they think you're making fun of their idol anyways.

Don't bother replying again unless you have something to actually say about the topic.

To be honest, I don't think this discussion is gonna get anywhere, lol.
It's best that it's closed.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, but I'm afraid this discussion might turn negative. mellow.gif

ugh.. international fans also buy CDs, you know.
we do contribute to something. we're not just there like you're implying.

you are insulting some international fans by saying they do nothing. the reason they buy merchandise, listen to their music is because they believe they're supporting them because they can't go to concerts and what not.

you know, I actually agree with you.. except the calling intl fans dumb part

I think intl fans need to chill and not get caught up in the drama Korean fanclubs create.
it seems like everything Korean fanclubs do, intl fans feel the need to replicate it. (eg. fiasco @ smtown concert in shanghai.. totally unnecessary imo)

I'm not talking about buying their CDs or whatever else.
I'm talking about international fans acting like mini-more annoying version of Korea's cult like fan culture.

^ actually, if you're talking about that, then i do in a way agree.
but if you're saying international fans contribute nothing, then i disagree.

edit: and btw, i don't take offense to what you said. except that 'dumb' part which you edited.

rofl, here you are again.

look, i understand what you're saying. I agree with some parts, like international fans have become too uptight and defensive? yes, its true.
but theres a reason for that. antis have been getting more stupid as well. D: then again, international fans should calm down a bit.

but your other stuff makes me lol.

Are you implying that international fans are wannabe korean fans? Because we're not. We work as one. (well snsd and shinee fans at least :X)

And they do care. If they didnt, why would they help international fans contact the artist? why would they help with our projects? why would we work together for a gigantic expensive anniversary present?

They help us with a lot of things. they care. :D they probably dont care that much, but they are willing to help.

and yes. we do need to watch what we say. We do have a reputation we need to keep.

Remember 2008 hollywood bowl? it was 100% international fans fault to release that dang fancam, and cause chaos about taeyeon + junsu. but honestly, it was inevitable anyway. its the internet.

rofl btw, i dont hate you wonderfulfive. you actually speak quite wisely. XD

edit:
damn i sound like a delusional fan. roflrofl w/e. o_o

its very true that the obsessiveness has risen in soompi regarding which fan club
not to mention that SOOMPIER make up their own rumors about what celeb is doing what.

I CAN literally list all the rumors made up by this site

1. TOUCH.. (by the way was a big laugh among krn netizens,, they said things like those idiots actually made this???)

2. DBSK breaking up..

3. DBSK/BOA/SJ documentary program..by sbs

4. SBS season 2 of SJ's show..

5. JLY/ Junsu romance.. (rofls doesnt even exist in south korea,, plus the fact on that thread the translator freaking made up the translations.. wth.. n nonkorean speakers actually BELIEVED IT.)

3. GOING overboard about SM.ent's LSM's nasty stuff. ( that was like 90s rumor made up by anti fans to cause stir among HOT fanclub.. it doesnt even exist anymore.. iono if its because foreign fans are slower at getting news.. but dont u think rumors from like 8 years ago abit TOO much..??)

if u guys didnt know.. koreans dont like it when foreigners talk bad stuff about SM.ent. or LSM himself. i've seen their comments on a various of site like hanryu cafe.. the site there have like over 200,000 members and they've seen some of the soompiers making up rumors and going overboard with talking crap about other celebs.. n trust me they dont see that in a positive way..

sometimes i wonder the little negative and true things said here are always bashed at against crazy fangirls.. i mean u guys need to know that the favorite idols sometimes NEED negative comments u guys cant always expect the positive and best NUMBER 1 NUMBER 1 things..

but one thing i dont agree with is that the person made it sound as if korean fans didnt APPRECIATE foreign fans. .cuz they hell of allot do.. well maybe more of other ASIAN fans.. koreans fans always thanks foreign fans about how much they support their favorite idols ,, ONLY when they hear about the foreign fans doing stuff for the idols.. but when there isnt much.. not really

u guys HAVE to realize.. that MOST KOREANS dont even know the foreign fans like non-koreans listen and watch their stuff.. they dont really have interest in those things.. that's why media always says HANRYU HANRYU to gain attention from korean public.. but korean public rarely gives a bull about those things. krn public is so oblivious to things that go on outside south korea,, like other asian ent.. a good ex. is like happy together show when even the MCS didnt know that foreigners watched their show,, n COME TO PLAY.. had no clue about other asian celebs.. if even entertainers are oblivious.. imagine the regular ppl.. .

if it means like foreign fans making petitions and stuff to do something to send to korean entertainment companies.. well OBVIOUSLY THEY WONT EVEN LISTEN.. cuz iono.. 99% of the time korean entertainment companies follow the krn trend and their target MARKET is KOREANS ... it just happens that the krn music ent. spread to asia.. but by following krn trends.. not looking at this market and that.. they arent going to pay attention to petition from foreign fans that live in like u.s. or europe, or other countrys... if a korean fans were to say something to the ent company.. obviously ent company would take time to listen.. but foreign fans theres less than 10% CHANCE.

WOW. Your signature is totally ANTI-SNSD - with that whole "oh what a beautiful day it was" in front of those two X's.

Seriously, even if you're so CLEVER about not bashing, but we all know that you're just PITTING FANS AGAINST FANS for your own SICKLY PLEASURE.

i think ur just THINKING TO HARD. just because some1 doesnt like this group or that.. how does that EQUAL and ANTI.???

the person can like whoever celeb they want. u have no right to put them in a category because of it. SICKLY PLEASURE..?? i think u should LISTEN TO UR OWN WORDS.

bashing some1 just because they didnt put "YOUr" favorite idol group in her banner and putting him/her as a ANTI thats what i call SICK.

^ perfect example of international fans gone crazy in MY opinion.

^^ That's so off topic. edit: I'm referring to the post above yours vir.

this topic is something that I've been thinking about for a very long time.

I don't know why international fans get soooo hyped over artists. I'm one of those people who critizes artists - even if I'm a fan.

If I thought that x-group's peformance sucked, I'll say it. I'll give reasons why I thought the performance/song was bad and in the end it's my opinion.

And then I'll get flamed to hell.

People take things like that way too seriously.

I don't know if some fans realize it but criticism does not equal flaming. It is perfectly okay to be critical.

Which is why WonderfulFive hasn't been banned yet - as much as most of you wanted. =P She's smart enough not to flame/bash anyone, but to be critical instead.

rofl, i agree. those things were so ridiculous. but soompi didnt make them. majority came from chinese fans, but soompi saw it and almost belived it. D:

oh yes, the lsm bashing/ people really need to stop. u_u

virvir111: lol at the perfect example.

H.O.T. balloons were white werent they? XD

i agree. then again i just get sick of absolutely ridiculous gushing. its rather obnoxious when it gets to the point where its like 'omg i love the way he stands or walks' or something like that.

the topic reminds me of how big bang fans have 'ivip' (i dont think its an official thing?)
