I'm interested in an impacted major at CSULB for nursing, but I'm unsure whether I'll be admitted into due to my low GPA (3.2) and my SAT is pretty.. eh so I'm taking the ACT this December. Can I apply to a different major (something unpopular like Asian Studies/Woman's Studies) for a higher chance of getting into CSULB and switch once I'll be admitted?
Sorry, I REALLY want to get into that school.
Thanks!

Yes, but you have to waste that first year and be great in the eyes to be admitted into the major.

I don't know about CSULB but I know alot of people in college generally do that. If it takes you a year to change your major, just focus on general education your first year that's required for all students. That's what my friend did.

ohh i thought you can change your major before classes start like during orientation?
since i have a REALLY THUDEROUSLY low sat score, can i not put it in my application? i'll be taking the act this december, but when i submit the application, it'll be just my gpa. .___.
as for the major, if i put nursing (impacted) as my intended major, and my alternative as asian studies.. and i didnt get into nursing (failed), so they put me in asian studies? AS IN I GET INTO CSULB? (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or maybe i should vice versa for a higher chance hmmmmm

I'm pretty sure all SAT grades will show on your application as well as your ACT grade when it's graded.
You can go in undecided and switch it as well. ( Major)

You can only not send ur sat scores if you dont plan on sending any sats or satIIs, but if you send any score from collegeboard, they all get sent.
You can apply to a different major and switch with ease as long as the major is not a different school (ex. csulb school of business)
But it doesnt give you an advantage just because anyone can apply to those majors...
the best strategy is to apply for a major that fits the subject you do best in. For example if i applied as a history major, i would not get into any school (i take the minimum history and do terrible in it)

well, technically, you only decide your major at the end of sophomore year. :/
you can only change schools after a year, as a transfer, so you'll have to keep up your grades for a while.

I love watching KevJumba's videos. xD

The average college student changes majors at least three times.
Impacted majors will be very hard to change into, though.
And you totally could have just asked anyone on the street about this and saved yourself some time typing and waiting for responses.

from what i know
if you want to change into a popular major
you have to be the top something percent of your class
especially if it's for an impacted major
