How would you react if your child told you that they were gay/lesbian/bisexual?

What if they told you they are/were engaged in an incest relationship?

I highly doubt my child would tell me anyways. And it's kind of weird for me. I can accept gays/bis/lesbians, but I cannot accept it if it was my own child.

I'd be more likely to disown them though if I found out they were homosexual. Not that I care at allpersonally, it would just shame the family...I'd have to bargain with them.

Incest...I don't know, I don't really care....They'll just have to keep it a secret. Nothing really fazes me because there is always a solution to it.

If it were two of my children..well I only plan to ever have ONE so there that goes out the window. As far is being gay/lesbian, I will love my child no matter what the cirumstances- that is a mother's love or what it SHOULD be. People these days have lowered the standard SO MUCH for what a parent is, and I'm not about to go that low-" I love my child but___" There is not BUT next to the word "love." Love is unconditional. If you have to put a 'but' next to it, you as might as well say that you don't love your child.

I remember a friend of mine who had fallen in love and brought the girl home to see his parents for the first time. When she introduced herself, the father became pale and took his son to a separate room to let him know that they had to split, since she was his half-sister. Then there was a lot of awkward explanation to do, because none of the others were aware that he had cheated on his wife many years ago and the girl had always thought that her step-father was her real father. My friend eventually recovered, married another woman and they now have two children. In this case the incest was avoided, but what a way to discover that you have a sister!
