QUOTE (7thprincess @ Oct 13 2008, 11:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So I've been talking with this guy. Yes, I am interested. Yes, he is also.
We've been talking for like about 2-3 months. He asked me out, but I said that we should wait. (Its going to be a long distance, if I said yes). And I have other reasons.
We talk almost everyday.
He calls me babe. I really dont mind. Actually I kinda like it. But he asked me to give him a nickname. And um, I feel kinda ummm.."not ready"/comfortable..to call him sweetie/hun.
So I'm thinking about giving him a cute nickname, instead of babe/hun/sweetie. Is that fine? Is that sending a different message?

He wants a nickname? What a lovey-dovey pansy... next thing you know he wants you to do his nails then he'll eventually cheat on you for another man. Just let him play on your rack because we all know that's what he wants. Let him preserve whatever manhood he has left then you can dropkick his @$$ because you'll get bored of him quick. sleep.gif

QUOTE (Meenuh @ Oct 13 2008, 11:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
this is about him being taken advantage of so no i don't see it as i'm being selfish.

This sounds like the type of situation that your bf can and should take control of in a professional manner. Tell him this is a test of his manhood and if he doesn't do it then he won't get the ______ tonight. That should get him motivated.

QUOTE (questions987 @ Oct 13 2008, 10:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Personally, where I"m at is not my end all, be all in careers but I've worked hard for where I am and the reputation I've built is based on dedication.

Hey Vina, you're such a workaholic. tongue.gif jk, how's it going down in San Diego?

You want creativity? How about setting a soompi meetup date at watcher's place. You can probably do this around any day, or holiday. watcher will cook you nice yummy food and maybe he'll offer some wine. And next, he will dim the lights and put on some nice soothing music, and let you sleep on his nice comfy bed.

Isnt that cute!!!

HAHA!!! Way to get the conversation back on topic, 7thprincess. smile.gif
Let's see here... watcher, my friend. I've got a whole bag full of goodies that I've done with my wife... <rummages around> But I should warn you, I'm a hopeless romantic - so this might not be your style. phew.gif
- I once called her workplace and got the day off for her, but didn't tell her (her whole office was in on the gig). This is before we had kids, for those who know that she is now a full time mother. wink.gif She went into work and I got busy preparing an awesome picnic spread. I put it all in this nice, romantic looking picnic basket, then drove to my wife's workplace with a bunch of roses and a nicely wrapped gift - and, of course, a love poem written by myself. Oh, prior to this, I found a very beautiful lake nestled away in the middle of the mountains that few people knew about, but was just a gorgeous setting. Anyway, I "surprised" her by showing up with flowers and the gift box. She thought it was the most wonderful thing! I was like, "OK, I gotta get off to work - but, first, I thought maybe we could run out to Starbucks real quick and spend just a few minutes together. I'll bring you right back." She got permission from her boss, haha... At this point, she had no idea there was more to the surprise... (I love double surprises). Anyway, I ended up passing the Starbucks and she was like, "uhhh... where are you going?" And I continued to drive on into the mountains. She was very pleasantly surprised. smile.gif We pulled the picnic spread out, set it under a beautiful tree overlooking the lake, enjoyed the food... and spent the rest of the day... uhh.... talking... there in the secluded place. (well! We did talk too, honest!).
- This last valentines I did something classic - but there is a reason this is so popular. smile.gif I sent my wife out of the house for the day and turned it into a gourmet restaurant, complete with fancy table, perfect place settings, dim lights, romantic music, fire in the fireplace, etc. I prepared an amazing 5 course meal (my wife still talks about it to this day), complete with artistic flourishes. I told her to be back at a certain time. When she arrived, I took her coat, and showed her to her seat. I had written her some poetry, scribed it onto a handcrafted card, and placed that in front of her seat with a red rose (I told you, this is classic). Then, I poured some wine, served the meal, and sat down to some wonderful conversation with my best friend and soul mate. Yeah, this may seem overdone - but how many people actually do it? My wife loved it to death, and she hopes I do it again some day. smile.gif

Well, I'm outta time... so I guess you only get two ideas for now. tongue.gif

I'll take that as a compliment. tongue.gif Hey, I'm confident in who I am - and I happen to love mushy things, lol. In fact, I embrace it and run with it. biggrin.gif
When I have more time, I'll have to post some of the other things we've done. smile.gif

Add one more for dinner watcher - I helped you pick that dishware.

As to whether you can cook it that would be a scary thought - can you actually cook?

Why, oh why would you want to do that? Watcher may think that he's god's gift to women, but I'd think he'd be too girly to be any good in bed.
