Hey all, so I have a friend who has menstrual issues. Okay, let me get this clear-- this really is about my friend and not me (lol) I know everyone would think that I'm really talking about myself and using "my friend" as a cover up. So to clear the air, I'll just say that "I" have menstrual issues that way, you'd know that it's really about my friend. --Get it? (lol)

Anyway, I talked to my one of my girlfriends the other day and she asked me if I ever had skipped/missed periods. I occasionally have them myself but in her case, she seemed to be pretty worried. Now here's where the sexual mature content comes in: She talked about masturbation and how she thinks it affects her menstrual cycle. Of course, I'm still a virgin and *innocent that I wouldn't know how to answer such a question.

My friend said she masturbates almost regularly and since then her period has stopped coming. It usually lasts up to 3-4 months until she has her period again....that is-- if she stopped masturbating for awhile. I'm majoring in health field and even I can't answer that question.

So, my fellow soompi women, do you mind helping me find the answer to her worries? Is it a serious problem or is it nothing to worry about? & if you were in a similar situation, how did you handle it? For how long has your menstrual cycle stopped?

I never heard of masturbation interfering with a woman's menstrual cycle. But then again it's not rare for her to have an irregular period. Is she on any medication? Don't worry.. I think she's fine.. the best solution would be for her to see a gyno or a regular doctor though.
