i recently registered my car (first time by myself) and i just noticed now, like 2 weeks later, that i do not have a registration card! my friend told me it was suppose to come with my plates but i do not recall so. all i had given to me was the plates and the stickers. i have insurance, the dmv has my title info and all, and they just mailed me a copy but i don't have the registration card. am i in trouble? will i be fined? tears.gif

I don't think you'll be fined but you'll be in trouble if you get pulled over. Just head back to the DMV and grab another one.
remember to show proof that its your car lol.

Yup, I agree with above poster. Just go to the DMV and request for a duplicate copy of registration, not a major issue as long as you don't get pulled over.

I don' think you really need the registration card as long as you did register your car. Cops can check your registration and insurance coverage when they pull you over on their computer. That whole "Can I see your license, registration, and proof of insurance?" deal is nonexistent where I live.
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

you won't get fined
my mom got into an accident and the police asked her for registration and i was looking through the car (and i told them that they should be keeping those in the car...but my parents never listen to anything i say) and i was like no i can't find it, it's probably at home..and he's like its okay i can look it up myself (like what the poster above said)

but you should get them anyways..you sure it doesn't come with the sticker? because its attached to the card and you rip off the card portion and keep that in your car

Not having a copy of registration can be a hassle if you get pulled over. Cops can and will, depending on how his/her day is going, cite you for not having a proof of insurance, driver's license and/or registration. The hassle is you have to take whatever you were missing when you got pulled over to the court and show the judge that you are insured, registered or licensed for legal system to rescind the ticket.

I was subject to it and I know few others who was cited for not having a proof of license/registration/insurance.
