Girls, If A Guy Paid For Your Meal On The "first Date"... How would that make you feel?

Remember, at this point, neither have said anything about anyone liking anyone. Just stepping out for a casual meal.
Anyways, if the guy paid for your dinner, how would that make you feel?
would you think its sweet or whatnot...
or would you be like "What the heck... why is he paying for me i dont even know him that well"
EDIT:
To clarify things a bit. I guess its not an explicitly labeled 'date'.
I asked if she wanted to hang out sometime, and today we decided to go out for dinner.
But we met not too long ago... so its not like we are good friends that have known each other for a long time.

I mean, it IS a first date, right? So it's not like OMG WTF!
I actually would be disappointed if it was a first date and he DIDN'T pay for my meal.

I agree, I wouldn't mind but if it happend on a reular basis it would begin to bother me but on the first date I thnk it would be very sweet of him =)

I offer to go dutch, but I expect him to decline and pay for it.
To me, it's really insulting if it's a 'date' and he expects me to pay for my share.
But if the starting premise of the outing was one purely out of friendship, then I'm more than willing to pay my half.

IMO, If you're not interested in her at all and only looking for platonic friendship, then going dutch is the way to go.
But if you are somewhat interested in her, then you should pay for the meal.

Cause first off, he's employed, and he's very friendly
and outgoing so if I offer to go dutch it'll be like an insult
that I'm putting money between our friendship. Hahaha
but yah, it's sweet.

Once I went karaoke-ing with a group and I told him I would share the expenses, BUT he insisted on paying the WHOLE FEE. I mean... WHAT? I felt /really/ bad and I would have rather he kept to the aforementioned deal and let me pay part of it.
And for me, I consider $40+ expensive.
