please help on how it works because i just think that you qualified if you have good grades but i hear something about income and all of these other sutffs that i don't even know about too, how does it work????? can someone please tell me step by step!!

well financial aid is this thing called FAFSA and it's basically the government helping you out by giving you grants to pay for your college tuition. Grants dont require you to pay it back. I dont think it bases on grades, mainly your income if you work and your parents income. you go to this website and you can fill it out beginning in January for the next school year. For example if you start college in fall 2009, you would fill it out this coming January. If you receive AID then they will send you a letter home saying how much you get. This will automatically be registered into whatever University you're going to attend and the tuition will be taken straight out of that account so they don't actually give you cash or anything. I hope that clears up some stuff for you I remember doing this myself and it wasn't that hard. I think I filled it out during lunch at school. All you need is basically your parents income tax and some personal information about them. Don't want till the last minute to fill it out because I think it might be first come first serve, so the earlier the more you'll get but its also based on which school you go to. I recommend that you go ahead and look at through that website and gather all the information you'll need to fill out the form now and apply for a PIN number. The website has everything on it, but if you have anymore questions i'll try to answer it.

Financial Aid is based of your income and your family's income. Using both of that they collect how much aids you will be needing to attend school. Most of the time the people that receive aids are in the low-income families or the low-middle income families. Sometimes if your family is the middle there isn't much aid for you.

However, I would recommend anyone who is going to attend college to fill out one of them. The government is practically giving out money to you and all you need to do is fill out this form.

Like the other member's say it's based on household income, you gotta file falsa every year for financial aid
