QUOTE
american: sono ______. c'è _____, per favore?

Use è_______? Meaning: is it ______?

for example: (Lei) è Mary? Is it Mary?/ Are you Mary? I think it would be more polite to ask that way instead of saying Tu sei Mary?

c'è means there is. you don't say c'è mary meaning there is mary.
Per favore is please.... I think I know what you mean, but I suggest sticking with è _____? Is it _____?
QUOTE
i: sono io. come stai?

who is io? I got confused for a moment, maybe try Si, sono _______. Come sta? (formal) unless for some reason they are really close friends.

QUOTE
a: non c'è male. mi viaggio in italia. io e mio fratello ci alloggiamo in un albergo di lusso. ci stiamo in una camera singola con servizi.

non c'e male tranlsates to there is nothing wrong, but it is not used in the right way. you use c'e when you want to say there is this object. if you want to say thre is that person you use Ecco. but for feelings, simply use bene if the person feels fine. non bene means not fine and cosi-cosi for so-so.

i suggest use arriverderci instead of ciao, too informal. or arriverderla, another form of goodbye.

I can only point this out, as for the rest I don't know how to fix, lol. I honestly haven't reviewed grammar for a long time. but...... the line "i am traveling in italy." will be difficult for you to use. for -ing in the verb you use -ando, -endo and -indo to indicate -ING.

>_<;; I can only point up to here, best wishes to your homework.

aww, thanks for replying! biggrin.gif

all those telephone phrases you pointed out were in my textbook, so i really don't have a clue. :/
the example in my textbook used "sono gianna," then went on to say, "c'e Maria, per favore?"

the conversation is between two friends, so i think ciao would be more appropriate. sweatingbullets.gif

Sorry, I'm not much help... >_>

Ah.......really? 0.o I haven't seen that in any textbooks before......I thought it was odd seeing c'e all over the place and seems over-used to me.
