Hi guys i was wondering ever went through a health check up before? What do they do? And how much does it cost?
Story-
My guy friend lives by himself (his parents live in Asia) so he never eats ANY vegetables or fruits. He smokes cigarettes and weed.
He called me today telling me he got off the computer chair and fall to the ground and got up and started puking (there was BLOOD in his puke)
I remember in the past he would say "my kidneys hurt.. can u massage my back" -.-'' and i was thinking "what the heck.. how can kidneys hurt?"
and he would say "DEEPER DEEPER!!" like literally wanting me to push my thumb into his back until it touches his kidneys or something..
I dont want him mad at me.. but i dont want to scare him at the same time.. but im really worried.. so i wanna know whats expected in a health examination,,
Also.. if i ask to go see the doctor first before my friend goes in.. if i tell the doctor the truth about my friend does weed alot too.. Do you think the doctor will
get us in trouble? like call the cops or somethng?? o_O

well, pot doesn't make kidney's hurt, or make you cough of blood. so dont worry about that. and no, the doctor cant call the cops on you guys for having weed in your system. plus weed is probably the most 'healthiest' drug out there.
he most likely has some other problems with his body, which he NEEDS TO GO GET CHECKED UP.
throwing up blood, and kidney discomfort can be symptoms of really bad infections/diseases/etc.

It's possible he has an ULCER or CANCER.
I don't know why you guys didn't go to the hospital ASAP after he started puking blood. Isn't that alarming?
Anyways, a "full out health test" depends on your problem ... I had abdominal cramps and chest pains, and it came out to 10-15k (insurance only covered 5k) because the tests they did on me were different than what they'd do with someone who's vomiting blood.
Basically, if you're in USA, you better find out about insurance or hope that you got money ... if you're Canada/UK/Socialized system, you're lucky.

It depends from country to country and also from problem to problem like the above poster said.
Just tell him to man up. Honestly, what is there left to be afraid of once you're puking up blood?
Would you rather seek help first or die? lol.

2. DO NOT ASK FOR SPECIFIC MEDICAL ADVICE
Obviously, the majority of soompiers are around the same age and thus the knowledge is equal as well.
Soompiers are NOT certified to give medical advice, so PLEASE consult your doctor.
This includes situations which are not experienced on a usual basis like the cold, but things like, "I haven't stopped bleeding for 3 weeks what do i do?" or "I think I accidentally drank poison what do i do?" etc etc

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
