Long story short, because of personal problems, I was unable to finish school. I'm thinking going back to school and finishing my degree, but as I did the math, I'll be the latest 30 years old when I will graduate... Is it worth to go back? Am I'm too late to get into the field that I want to go into?

Thanks for everyone useful inputs and advice. I really appreciate it.

It's never too late. If you get to do something worth while from 30->retirement wouldn't that be nice?

"Too Late" - Like someone stated above, it is never "too" late for anything. Empower yourself, 30 is the new 20. Get out there and grab a hold of something you want and desire, if someone thought it was "too" late to create something or build something, then there would only be 1 of everything. 1 energy drink, 1 music sharing program, 1 social networking site.. only because it was too late because somebody did it already, and they had waited too long to do anything about it..

Long story short, get up and do it.. Right now is the best time to be in school, by the time you finish "god willing" the economy will be better and you will have a job lined up for you.. Student loans are easier to access right now than most others, take advantage of it, and finish school!..

30 isn't old at all for school, I have like 50-60 year olds in some of my classes. I don't know how old you look, but most people will probably just think you're a grad student or something anyways.

Its never too late if you care and want to go.
Some people in my classes are old and have kids and jobs. Some do it for love of school (I can not fathom that) and there are tons of reasons.. I don't see why you can't go back to school if you wanted to.

As long as you have the aspiration... It's never too late.
I've had a couple of retired elderlies in my my classes, and to them, it was never late.
If you make excuses & keep putting it off years after years, like my brother, it will seem like forever to get a degree though.

Age shouldn't be a reason not to return to school. If a degree is necessary in your field (and experience isn't a substitute), then it's probably best to return to school if you can afford the time and money required for it.

No it's not too late. I have some students who are in their late 30's and even 50's in my class!
If you feel like it's something you want to do then you should do it.

At the same time evaluate the value of going back to school. Don't let it be your only option assuming that everything will just work out for you once you get your degree. I agree that its never too late to pursue and finish your education but at the same time (since you are late), have a backup plan as well (in terms of your career and financial status with or without a degree).

Too late to go back to school and you'll be done by 30? WOW! I must be old then. I'm 30 and I'm back in school. By the time I do finish I'll be close to probably 40. So, does this make you feel better knowing that I'm going to be older than you when I graduate from college?

Never too late! Make sure you want it or you'll end up wasting time. That's the real problem there b/c older you get the harder it is b/c you have a lot more things going in life and sometimes finding time is hard to get by. I think you should be concern about if you're going to regret it or not if you don't go back. This is for you, not for anyone else.

Good luck!

Hell no, it's never too late.

Shoot, I'm 40 and I've been going back to school many times since I was 20.

Granted, it was traffic school - but still.

I agree with everyone who said it's not too late and never too late to go back to school.

I'd do it.

You know life is all about you. If you want to go back to school at 50 it is your choice. Personal issues derail many lives. It not necessary to regret them. Learn and move on. Education is not for the 20- somethings. Its for everyone. That is what I love about the eduction system. There is a university for anyone and everyone. Don't let age hold you back for anything. I have done that most of my life. Stupid. I feel silly thinking about it, but wait. The past is never a mistake it's there to prepare us for tomorrow and the future.

in life, it is NEVER TOO LATE to do anything.

You only have one life to live.

Who cares if you're 50 even,
do the things you need to do.
You only get one life to do them.
