oh man!! not another creepy movie =( "no offense" but the first movie got bad review!! can't believe that they making another one =(!!!

It doesn't matter if the movie got bad reviews its all about the money and so far the Twilight made....

Domestic: $142,094,695
+ Foreign: $34,578,536
= Worldwide: $176,673,231
^from the box office mojo

if Twilight racked up that much money then its not unusual to make the sequel.

I'm really not into Michael Copon. They could've done better. Yes, he's easy on the eyes, but I find his acting horrible. D:

New director has already been chosen. It's a he (forget his name, but he direct Golden Compass, which came out to be a total flop).
Also, he'd most likely want to make this more 'boyish', meaning more fight scenes, etc.

Unfortunately, the screenwriter has already sent in her script for New Moon, she's working on Eclipse.
Gahd I hate her writing to the death. She has no excuse of 'it was a long book'. I mean, look at Harry Potter.
She didn't even READ it.
What an ass.
I guess another problem is Summit. They care less about quality -__-

How I wish I were down at their production area and burning the script.
The book was cheesy enough and the movie was just horrific.
The two leads were terrible (not all of their fault - the script was just disgusting and they even wanted to change it, but they still acted very awkwardly.)

I was pleased with the supporting characters, though.
Hopefully they'll be better in New Moon, but who knows.

I don't understand the crazed fan girls who loved the movie.
Idiots.

New Moon has the potential to surpass Twilight...

btw i still say that Ben Barnes should still play someone in the Volturi~!!
as if this isn't proof enough!! wouldn't he make a cool marcus or caius?!

its for a movie that Ben just filmed called Dorian Gray but he totally could pull off the
i will kill you and drink your blood but i won't kind of look~
*sighs* if rob and ben are in one movie together i'll go crazy~

are you sure that's his real facebook?
if it is... ugh i don't want a self-absorbed actor to play Jacob
i like Taylor and it took me a lot of time and energy to finally accept Taylor as Jacob
so if Summit is going to trade him in for this Micheal guy...
i dun think i would be able to New Moon...

yes i'm sure because he posted up a video saying hi to fans
but he specifically says, welcome to my facebook

But if he did get signed by Summit,
wouldn't it be kind of strange to let him gloat and brag about it?
I mean, wouldn't they tell him to keep it hush hush until Summit actually releases the news?

I'm hoping its just a joke because I really don't want him to play Jacob.
His vibe just totally contradicts Jacob's friendly, easy-going personality.

I know a lot of people are kinda worried about Chris Weitz as director...but honestly if you watch About a Boy that movie is seriously one of my favorite movies<3 and the Golden Compass...as much as a flop it was...the effects were AMAZING so I have faith in Chris...

HOWEVER

I seriously will go kill Summit if they do not raise the budget...they made SO MUCH freaking money why won't they raise it? Seriously...even though I do blame Catherine for the failure of Twilight...I do have to blame Summit for not making QUALITY as a priority...as much of a diehard fan I am for the series...I CAN wait for the movie if it means it's going to be epic with better quality. I don't want it to come out within a year and be pure crap...but seriously Summit and the screenwriter is my problem now...I wish some other company had picked up the movie =(

and about Michael Copon as Jacob Black...guy can't act. end of story.

yes, it's important for the JACOB BLACK actor to be a good actor. I mean it's not enough to just get someone who look the part. He's got to ACT the part well.

i think taylor should stay
liek screw the whole muscle tall thing

rosalie was supposed to be a drop dead georgous looking supermodel type
and she wasnt anything like that in the movie

and only 50 million?
jeez doesnt hp get like 700 million

I know...maybe it's also one of the things why Catherine HArdwicke was "laid off"-- she miscast some characters.. She just focused on Edward and Bella. I think that RP and Kstew are really great. But, Nikki reed as rosalie? Nikki is pretty but she looked different as Rosalie. The one playing Victoria should've been Rosalie instead.

ITA. when i saw the picture of Rosalie. i was like "WHAT? this girl can't be Rose, she is not pretty enough and Rose is supposed to be gorgeous that make every girls eny of her beauty. But Nikki ? big NO to me. She looks old as well , she even looks older than Esme.
I really like Rachelle. I like her voice and her hair. All my friends said Victoria looks 10x prettier than Rose.

here is an old rumour. I do hope it won't never be true.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Audrina Patridge from 'The Hills' has been spotted going to an audition for New Moon. (?!)
She's told press "I would definitely love to play one of the vampires. I don't know which one because there's so many in the forth book that come in. I'd have to go in and read all the vampires again and see which one I'd absolutely want to play, but I would love to [be a part of it]!"

Here are fans' assumptions why Taylor could be replaced in NM :
- He's 16 yrs old, so he only can work 5 hours per day( i think this is major reason why Summit want to replace Jacob).
- He's too short to play Jacob. Just look at this pic. I wonder how they make Jacob looks taller and bigger than Edward. and Taylor's baby face is a big problem as well.

Summit really should confirm everything at once. i really hate how they give us bits and pieces

I didn't think about that ...

You know what, I really think this whole ordeal is really unfair to Taylor.
Yeah I understand that they want to take every opportunity to make this movie better and I guess, in that case, they need to replace Taylor/Jacob.

But... I'm just wondering, did they have this idea to begin with, to replace him?
If so, they should've told Taylor to begin with so he could go into the movie, knowing that he was only going to do 1 movie of the 4.
Because watching the ending of Twilight the movie, it is safe to assume that the producer and director KNEW they were going to do the next movie.

So why did they put Taylor into this situation, giving his hopes up?
I really think it was irresponsible and not well planned if they were going to "hope" that Taylor would grow a foot and major muscles by the time the next movie was going to film.

Replacing an actor (who was going to be a main character) is one thing
... but to give Taylor the inkling hope that he was going to be in the future movies, that's horrible.
Honestly, I think they predicted that they were going boot Taylor off.
If so, they really should've told him. He's not even an adult yet. He's a young teenager.

Giving something to a teen and taking it away suddenly BURNS.

WAIT! I'm really confused.

I thought the next director that is doing "New Moon" was the director for "The Golden Compass".
But there's a thread on soompi saying that the director also directed/produced "American Pie".

... is that true? Because that's kind of funny lol.

^yep Chris Wietz did co-direct the American Pie movie...

he's got a lot of weight on his shoulders
coming from the actors themselves and from the fans...
all what i have to say it....

good luck and don't screw yourself over!

and about the Taylor being underage...
Kristen Stewart was only 17 when she made Twilight and she's in mostly every single shot...
so if they could work around her...
then why not for Taylor?

[edit] was a second late ^^

its Chris Weitz look him up on imdb
he's worked in a wide variety of movie genres

i don't know how i feel about this yet
his note to the fans sounds reassuring
but so did catherine hardwicke
and look how much everyone hates her...

but it seems there is still no word on whether eclipse will be filmed back to back

he must have known though
because robert and kristen as well as some of the cullens have already mentioned that they were all signed on for 3 of the books
when they signed on with twilight
so they all knew they would be coming back

so its one way or the other, taylor is signed on for the next three books
or the offer was never presented to him, in which case
he should have known that there was a possibility of him being replaced

and he seems very eager to get the part because he's been bulking up
and with catherine being interested in his martial arts video..

but now that there is a new director, all that's out the window

Personally, I think (almost KNOW) that he'll do a better job than the previous one.
But that's just my preference.
I looked up in IMDB and he also directed "Down to Earth" and was also the co-writer for "Off Centre" -- although the show got canceled within the first season, it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen.

But... the director has more "COMEDY" experience than ever.
And personally, I think New Moon is one of the more depressing books of the saga, with Edward leaving Bella in the forest and him almost committing suicide and such.
I ... just wonder how he's going to handle it.

Okay so, now that the directors changed -- if Taylor had signed on for the next three books, the somewhat-of-a-contract is null?

I don't know what's the legality behind it.

I mean I certainly don't want the whole Taylor being booted off turn into a huge legal case, but how does that whole "signing on" work?

okey...
i haven't been seen here much lately because i have work and stuff...
but goodness what a turn-up...

okey the pictures of the could be vampire clan...cannot be...
i was thinking more like an interview with the vampire kind of look...
i did like the suggested look on one of the GIF's, the one including johnny depp and that girl from silent hill...

i liked the golden compass and i don't like new moon so much...but if he can make me like new moon the movie then i'll give him a hats off...i mean no edward...but dude its still a love story lets not forget that...
i saw twilight...and i'm saving my comments for the movie thread...all i'm saying is that its short...too short...

about the jacob stuff...i admit i don't like him to be jacob...his too young...but if you change him only to get that player guy on one tree hill then you'll have a big fit...
the book did said that he was just going to get like a year older but buffer not hunkier...
i mean don't get me wrong...he is hot...let us admit that...but jacob is sentimental, deep and views bella as his only princess...when i look at that guy i remember his character on one tree, one who can and will sleep with any girl, and his lesbian sister...he's just not jacob...
that guy from the covenant on the other hand is a whole new story...i love him...he'll be perfect...i'm actually wondering why in the hell he didn't get the role in the first place...

anyways...theres a rumor going around that it will be released in the summer...i'm not sure if of this year or 2010...

another thing if there's alaska in the story then isn't that partly midnight sun...edwrad's view of the story...hope not...
i wanna miss edward...

I'm really happy Chris Weitz got the director's chair for New Moon cause he for one, co-directed "About a Boy" (a wonderfully done film) although The Golden Compass wasn't what it turned out like the book, his direction was fantastically done and it's too bad the studio for that production wanted him to change everything but he has potential to make the critics like the film adaptation of NM more than Hardwicke with Twilight.

As for the "Jacob Black" fiasco over who's been cast or if Taylor is still Jacob, I adored him in Twilight but I want the storyline in a way to stay true to the books so I kinda agree with going with another actor. Taylor is still a minor so being 16, he can't be able to do most of the shootings sleep.gif.

This Michael guy CANNOT be Jacob huh.gif! If he got the role, then boy did Summit screwed us big time! I've heard he has terrible behavior and not to mention, his acting credits doesn't even help his image (a "power ranger" tongue.gif?).

I know Steven Strait is practically ideal (he is my NM Jacob too) but what if he's not what Summit wants (they do imply NA actors)? Or even what if he doesn't want to be involved?

MTV ARTICLE BEN BARNES AS ARO? MICHAEL COPON AS JACOB???

QUOTE
When Bella Swan moved to Forks, Washington, she found her whole life in upheaval. The embittered teenager was forced to replace her old friends with new ones and found her everyday comforts replaced by uncertainty, doubt and fear for the future.

These days, "Twilight" fans are feeling closer to their heroine than they ever thought possible.

Following last week's dismissal and replacement of Catherine Hardwicke, this weekend began with a press release from Summit Entertainment officially appointing "New Moon" director Chris Weitz to the job. Suspicious in its omission of Taylor Lautner, the release seemed to all but confirm Twilighter whispers that Hardwicke won't be the last "Twilight" talent replaced before the sequel.

So where does the series go from here?

MTV News can confirm that 26-year-old "Scorpion King 2" actor Michael Copon [pronounced "COPE-on"] is one of several actors Weitz is considering to play the new, larger Jacob Black. A representative for Copon told us that they're making a full effort to land the high-profile gig. And in a bit of 21st-century self-publicity, the actor has even recently updated his Facebook status with messages like: "Michael Copon [is] in a Twilight Zone!" and "Michael Copon is the older Jacob Black!"

Copon's representative confirmed to MTV News that the Facebook page is run by the actor himself and that those are indeed his words.

Approached for comment on Lautner's omission from the "New Moon" press release, Summit confirmed that it was not a typographical error. "The casting decision in regards to the character Jacob Black has yet to be made," a representative told MTV News.

But even once Copon (or whoever else) is officially announced as the new Jacob, Weitz still has many other key casting decisions to make and an extremely brief amount of time in which to make them. With barely 12 weeks until cameras are due to begin rolling, the "Golden Compass" filmmaker needs to find faces to portray several key characters — including the peace-keeping, Italian vampires known as the Volturi.

With the buzz building for these roles, MTV News has confirmed that 27-year-old "Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" heartthrob Ben Barnes is throwing his hat into the ring. The actor is already quite popular with the "Twilight" fanbase and shares the same manager as both Copon and "Twilight" star Cam Gigandet. Barnes is believed to be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose "New Moon" encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together.

Where does the "Twilight" franchise go from here? At the moment, the only person who knows is Weitz himself. Stay tuned to MTV News for the very latest on Copon, Barnes and any other names yet to emerge.
