whatever happened to the beauty of movie magic!!!
how were giants in Harry Potter conceived? the actor Robbie Coltrane isn't that tall at all!!
there are plenty of different camera angle that could make Taylor look SO much taller...
ex. the camera angles they used in Lord of the Rings... its called false perspective shooting...
Elijah Wood isn't a 4ft being!!!
the excuse of not being tall enough shouldn't be one of the reasons why they should be replacing Taylor...
and about his baby face, what about makeup?

oops~ but I don't know, it's just something about Taylor
yes they can MAKE special effects but it'd be easier
if they just get a bigger person
i'm not so much bothered by his baby face since Jacob
is really friendly~ a different side, like a mood lifter out of all
these vampires

Keep in mind that lord of the rings had a budget of around $270 million. Lord of the Rings had all the money for the special effects and what not.
And what is New Moon's budget? I think I read somewhere that it's only going to be 50-60 million...
I dont like the production company Sumit. They seem to just make easy money from this franchise. -__-

they just need to stand on a different level from each other...no special effect need for that...
and that doesn't take a million dollars to do...
and i agree about summit... they are doing everything they can to piss the fans off...
seriously a budget of only 50million when they are just made $186,093,776
i wish i could talk directly to a CEO of Summit and tell them what's on my mind...
because i have to admit i like Twilight but to a certain degree and it definitely was not because of the special effects...

"VOLTURRI!!"
it makes me kinda excited to watch New Moon...
i mean, with all the 'disappointment' in Twilight,
my friends bowed to never watch it again...
hahahaha
but yeah, i tried reasoning it's not that bad...
well, for some ppl who wouldn't even care who Emmett is...
wooott~ and more ALICEEE~~ yay!

OH MY GOD NO! If they really replace Taylor with that UGLY (for me) guy then...ugh.
Taylor and Kristen just look really nice together. I mean, if they feel like Taylor isn't up to being Jacob, why'd they cast him in the first place?

But I totally agree with every single word you typed up. I mean, why would they make him Jacob in the first place when they knew that he wouldn't grow 5 meters in- ever.
I don't think it should be too hard to make him look bigger with angles and special effects. I mean, they do it to Hagrid all the time - _-; Yeah? And I also think that Michael Copon looks ugly. AND looks way too old... I don't think he could pull it off with Jacob acting cute sometimes. Eh. Summit... pleaaaaaseee! Keep Taylor :< poor boy.

As for Ben Barnes... BEN FOR ARO. <3
I think someone mentioned above that the budget is pathetically small.
I understand the angles, because that's cheaper (heck, its free) but there are a lot of sweet, close, huggable moments between him and Bella.
I still don't see how they could pull that off.
Harry Potters CG-ing was ah-mazing! but that's because they had so much money for the movie.
LOL, to me, Copon isn't ugly ... but he's very well-kept, in fact, METROSEXUAL looking.
... which again, now I'm thinking ... if he's going to Jacob, he needs to be beastly and grungy =)
Copon, technically, really can't pull off anything but his player-like self.
If Taylor was a bit taller or if the budget was larger, Taylor should/could stay in the film.
But considering the situation as of right now ... I'm hoping Copon gets it.
Hopefully he'll suddenly master acting (somewhat) and wow us.

I am really looking forward to the movie now that Catherine isn't directing it. I have faith in the man. I hope he can pull through, seriously. This sequel better be good, if not I don't know what to expect in the other movies.

Ah I see. Hmm, I'm so behind on New Moon news. Now that I know that the movie budget is going to be kept ridiculously low, makes sense. BUT I still don't think Copon fits the spot for Jacob. I really wish that Taylor will keep the part of Jacob, but if not Steven will be enough to satisfy me (only wishes).

but go... i like him.he's hot...
again i don't like the player to be jacob...
he's a player...end of story.
jacob is in love with bella and only bella... no one else...
he could never pull that of...
jacob has only one bella and this guy has a lot bella...i believe that anyone who can wear a skirt and squeak is bella for him...
he is not jacob...listen to the people... people of summit.
and i hope they keep the robes that aro and the others are going to be wearing...i keep dreaming about the robes when i imagine every single detail in new moon of them...

I would REALLY want Taylor to stay and I know he's really dedicated to this role since you see the spark in his eyes BUT again, he's a minor and has limited time to shoot and that's a problem to them. I'm glad they're still trying to work it out and haven't given him a complete no yet to go along with the storyline, we have get a new actor. It's hard to decide who it could be (although I'd be happy with anyone that's not Copon!)
Copon's antics remind me so much of Sean Young vying for the role of Catwoman for Batman Returns which were desperate and obviously a complete bust! Taylor is much younger and has the maturity understanding about whether or not he were to give up the role while Power Ranger is campaigning on the web with immature tactics like on youtube under "newmoonchannel" or something, he's stating why he should have the role
Seriously though Sharkboy > Power Ranger anyday.

Actually this is completely different from when Rob was cast..
This is a RECASTING... which is just completely thoughtless on behalf of Summit.
If they didn't think Taylor Lautner could do the job as an older Jacob... they should've cast someone they thought would fit in the first place.
A recasting and initial casting are totally different scenarios since a RECASTING causes the movie viewers to CHANGE their view of the character ... which essentially weakens the character as a whole for those who haven't read the books.
Also, I respect that everyone is entitled their own opinions...
but I think it's a weak reason to choose Copon just because he's more physically capable to play Jacob.
If Summit wasn't such a
they would probably satisfy a greater number of fans by keeping Taylor.

Have y'all seen recent pictures of him? He has definitely bulked up. I saw a picspam of Taylor showing the changes from right before Twilight started filming to as recently as a couple of days ago. And by these recent pictures, Taylor has really physically made himself look more like what Jacob in NM is suppose to be.
I hope Taylor's meeting with Chris Weitz goes well this week and confirmation of his return as Jacob in NM is made soon.

I have to admit, I've been supporting Copon for a while since I want the New Moon movie to be perfect -- as in getting someone that fits the "look" Jacob is supposed to have.
But now that I see the new, revitalized Taylor making a comeback, I know NOW he can do it.
I guess they could use the "Tom Cruise boosters" --whatever that is-- to help the height issue.
I just want him to make Edward look inferior (since that what I thought it was supposed to seem all along, although very hard to accomplish with the beautiful RobPatt) so whatever can be done, I guess I changed my mind -- TAYLOR ALL THE WAY.
I'm not really on a Team Jacob thing but TEAM TAYLOR because of all the efforts he's been putting in.
I really hope Taylor woos Chris Weitz but I hope Chris reads blogs and polls and realize that if Taylor is booted without given the chance to make his miraculous comeback --- many Twilighters will not be watching New Moon supposedly, since Jacob/Taylor fanbase is pretty big.
