NEW MOON: UK release date
E1 Entertainment are pleased to annouce the UK release of "New Moon" on 27 November 2009

QUOTE
NEW MOON INFORMATION
USA/Canada release date

November 20, 2009
This date as with any movie date is subject to change based on filming, marketing, any number of factors.

CHRIS WEITZ
Is hired to direct New Moon
He is currently exploring various locations for filming in the USA and Canada
He has not been hired for any other movie. That is not to say he won’t be, but it’s just not in the focus right now.

FILMING

They are not filming the upcoming movies concurrently a la Lord of The Rings style.

Filming is scheduled for late February/early March. Specifically where has not been announced though various Western Canadian locations and Portalnd, Oregon locations have been scouted.

Cast
TAYLOR LAUTNER will continue as Jacob (We’re mystified why we are still getting mail on this one.).
The role of LEAH is not in the New Moon script as confirmed by screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. So all speculation on "Who is playing Leah?" is ridiculous given that she’s not even in the movie. Please, for the sake of our sanity, no more Leah emails. We swear, Melissa swears we are not making this up: No Leah in the New Moon movie.
VANESSA HUDGENS did not at any time audition for any part in New Moon as confirmed by her management, and Summit. Pel is starting to get this odd twitch every time she opens the email and sees the word "Vanessa" or "Disney" in the subject line.
AMERICA FERRARA did not audtion for EMILY YOUNG, but actress AMERICA YOUNG did. It is unknown whether America Young has landed the role, or who else has auditioned at this time.
DAKOTA FANNING is in talks to play Jane.
There is a call out for Native Americans fitting certain descriptions to apply for New Moon. There is not a general call out for any other part. In other words, don’t call them, they’ll call you.

You know what's funny?
Chris Weitz is the director of a vampire book turning into a film (New Moon)
and his brother, Paul Weitz is also a director of a vampire book turning into a film (Cirque du Freak) which will also be coming out in 2009 but earlier

and i loved both books smile.gif

‘Twilight’ stars spill ‘New Moon’ details

QUOTE
Good news for Twi-hards; judging by the tips “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene and Kellen Lutz shared with Access Hollywood about “New Moon” on Thursday night, it sounds like the second installment in the series will remain faithful to Stephenie Meyer’s book.

“I can tell you there’s a yellow Porsche,” Greene revealed at the premiere of Dakota Fanning’s “Push,” confirming that the vehicle, which plays a special role in the “New Moon” book, will be in the movie.

“I can tell you there’s werewolves,” she added coyly. “I think (the details of ‘New Moon’ script are) kind of highly under wraps.

'Twilight' Cast Talk 'New Moon', Dakota Fanning Comments on Jane Role

QUOTE
Expressing her excitement over the possibility of Fanning portraying Jane, the Alice Cullen of "Twilight", Ashley Greene, said at the red carpet, "Dakota Fanning would be great as Jane. I really hope that rumor becomes reality." Yet, the soon-to-be 15-year-old Fanning revealed that she still isn't sure that she will take the offered role, saying "I think it is too soon to say for sure whether I will or won't be in [New Moon]."

Moving on to another topic, Greene fessed up that she has read the Melissa Rosenberg's script for the "Twilight" sequel. "I felt like a spy reading it," she recalled. "It does come very close to the tone and the events that are in book 2. There are a couple of things that were changed which I think make it more interesting for the visual medium but nothing that will upset fans of the books. I think it is safe to say that it will make everyone happy."

That's great that Dakota Fanning got Jane's part. She'll do well smile.gif
It's sad that Taylor Lautner isn't going to be Jacob Black in New Moon, because he's too short?! At least that's what I heard...And he's been working out a lot too. I saw on Youtube where he gained 20 pounds by working out and he's freaking ripped now with a six-pack and everything.
An official article stated that he's too young and inexperienced to lead an important part in the new movie, but I dunno. I wonder who else they'll choose.

Didn't he say in that same video in the beginning that he was going to play Jacob in New Moon...?

and a few posts above yours also says that Taylor is returning.

Dakota Fanning didn't get the part of Jane, yet. Although a lot of us have high hopes for her.
Also Taylor WILL play the part of Jacob. It's been confirmed since... a while ago.

Dakota Fanning would be great! I haven't seen her in a role like that before really. She's a great actress. She's grown up a lot though. She looks so much older in the PUSH previews.

I was a little weary about Taylor but as I watched Twilight I got used to him. I hope he does good in New Moon!

I wonder who they'll cast for the WOLF PACK -cough- other Quileute characters.

I liked Solomon Trimble for Sam and Krys for Embry,
But if they're going for someone else,
I would like for them also to have Native American ancestry at least.

Solomon Trimble (Sam maybe?, Left) & Krys -I don't know last name- (Embry, Right)

They were Sam & Embry in the first movie tongue.gif
I think they fit the roles really well,
and if you guys haven't already seen this,
they were interviewed by the Twilight Lexicon during Twilight shooting: (spoilers if you haven't read New Moon)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jL-MpUWJfw

They're so SAM & EMBRY! -in my opinion-
oh yeah and Taylor is in the last 1-2 minutes of it tongue.gif

Vanessa Hudgens Unlikely to Join New Moon Cast

QUOTE
She reportedly auditioned for a role in the forthcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon, but Vanessa Hudgens is unlikely to get the part – for now.

"I'm not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah [Clearwater, a werewolf]," screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, explained to PEOPLE at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night. "But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn't happen until the third movie."

See? It's nothing personal. Plus, reps have denied Hudgens was in consideration for the role.

Rosenberg also offered a few other insider tidbits about the progress of New Moon. "Well, you know Taylor Lautner will be back as Jacob Black. I can tell you the original cast will all be coming back. They're on set right now, in Vancouver! They're all up there prepping the movie to start shooting very soon."

As for other changes in the next installment, Rosenberg said she expected new director Chris Weitz – who replaced the first film's director, Catherine Hardwicke – to put his expertise and imprint on the second film.

"Chris Weitz directed The Golden Compass, which was a beautiful-looking film," Rosenberg said. "And I think it's wonderful we have someone who has worked with CGI animals ... that will be a big part of New Moon. I'm delighted we have someone who's so expert at that."

Just for anyone in the Vancouver area, there are open casting calls for New Moon for actors 15-25 but I think they want Native/Aboriginal ancestry because I heard they are still trying to find members of our beloved wolf pack but there are extras needed from what I heard happy.gif.

Italy Shooting Details of 'New Moon'

QUOTE
In line to what Kristen Stewart had said earlier, some parts of "New Moon" will be filmed in Italy. Giving further details on the production in this particular European country, Variety reported that the sequel of "Twilight" will be shot in an ancient town in Tuscany region called Volterra.

The trade further explained that the shooting in Italy will be done for two weeks in May, two months after the principal photography begins in Vancouver in March. The town of Volterra itself, in the Stephenie Meyer's second novel of her "Twilight" series, has been described as the place where the powerful Volturi vampire coven reside.

In relation to the Volturi vampire coven, the Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated actress Dakota Fanning is currently in negotiations to play one of the Volturi members, Jane. "The character is what I would be excited about," she told E! News of the character while promoting "Coraline" over the weekend. "It's kind of evil, something I've never done before, and it's a vampire. You know, it's really cool, so I really hope it works out."

While revealing that she hasn't read "New Moon" novel, the soon-to-be 15-year-old admitted she is flattered to be considered right for the role. "I know that Twilight is so sacred to some people, and I know that when people cast certain people, people have their opinions and that's their right," the "Push" star explained. "That's very flattering that they think I'd be right for the part."

A sequel to 2008 hit vampire drama "Twilight", "New Moon" will be directed by "The Golden Compass" helmer Chris Weitz using the script penned by "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. The romantic drama will see the return of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner among others.

Centering on the personal conflict Bella experiences, it will chronicle the time Bella Swan is left devastated by the abrupt departure of Edward Cullen. Finding solace in her friendship with Jacob Black, she soon finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves and her loyalty to the vampires is tested. The Summit Entertainment movie is aimed for November 20, 2009 U.S. release.

AnnaLynne McCord Confirms Negotiations for 'New Moon' Role

QUOTE
"90210" star AnnaLynne McCord is on the verge of becoming one of "New Moon" cast ensemble. Responding to the speculations that she is considered to play Heidi in the "Twilight" sequel, the 21-year-old confirmed to MTV News that she is indeed in talks with director Chris Weitz and his team.

Of it, she gushed, "We are in negotiations. It's definitely something I would love to do; as most people know, I am obsessed with vampires. I'm a true-blood 'Twilight' fan all the way." She, furthermore, revealed that the hold-up for the deal is her hectic schedule. "There's some scheduling conflicts, and we're trying to work that out now," she explained. "We'll see what happens with it, but hopefully - fingers crossed - it'll smooth over and we'll be able to work it out."

On the occasion, the actress who will soon be seen in "Fired Up" revealed that she actually has been offered to play Rosalie for "Twilight". "They wanted me to play Rosalie. I met with the producers when 'Twilight' was casting, the original," she recalled. "I was on 'Nip/Tuck' at the time. And they were like, 'We'd love to have you in this little film we're doing called 'Twilight,' but the family only has small roles.'"

"They were like, 'It shoots in Oregon, so you probably couldn't do it anyway.' And I was like, 'If it shot [in L.A.] that would be cool," she continued explaining. "Then this little film 'Twilight' blows up, crazy. So, I came back in for a [recent 'New Moon'] meeting and was like, 'Hey, remember me? I supported you way back when!' I'm like, 'Let's do this!'"

Meanwhile, "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke has finally spoken out about her decision to pass on "New Moon". Noting that she has been offered "more money than I or anyone in my family has ever seen" by Summit Entertainment for the sequel project, she told Entertainment Weekly (EW) that she turned it down because she couldn't do it "under the terms Summit set forth, with a limited budget and strict timetable".

In an interview posted on EW, the director fessed up that the offer came when she was having dinner in Paris with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. On her decision to give up the directing part, she shared "I was devastated. I really did feel a strong connection to the people around the world that liked the movie - and to Stephenie and the actors. But I just didn't think I could make a good movie under those circumstances."

I haven't watched the first movie yet, but I really hope Taylor isn't replaced! He's the exact age Jacob is supposed to be, so why would they want someone older? I don't get why people want 20-30 year olds playing teenagers sleep.gif Plus I loved Taylor when saw "Shark Boy & Lava Girl" a few years ago!

I'm 98% sure AnnaLynne is dating Kellan. I heard about her originally being suggested but I didn't know they offered her the role. Oh well, Nikki is Rosalie now and brings out the character's presence more (plus she looks so cute with Kellan!). If she was Heidi, have fun but she's barely in the film and no offense but, at least it's a benefit (I don't think she can act) because she stands there says a few lines and look pretty.

Here's Kellan and Annalynne's latest pic *coughs*kissing*coughs* --> http://i40.tinypic.com/2m50bdf.jpg

imo, if they hired Annalynne or somebody who's blond, pale and tall, Summit could've save some of their budget from bleaching, hair dye and high heels for Nikki Reed. She was really a mis-cast, if it wasn't for Chardwicke she surely won't get that role. Annalynne always play the villain/b*tchy girl in her other projects so she'll be able to play Rosalie's part well.

Kellan Lutz is a Street Fighter

^Aww if it was on March 22 instead of the 23rd, they would've started filming on my birthday although, since they'll be in Vancouver. Oh well but that means I might have to go in crazy fangirl stalker mode laugh.gif! JKs it depends on how they are gonna do production and I'm betting there's going to be more security.

EDIT: Wow! Okay, I know Kellan had done a few commercials before Twilight (he looked familiar when he first got cast) and then it hit me! He was in a Mountain Dew commercial with a ferret acting like Jason tongue.gif!
