Laptop Making Funny Noises?

hey guys, i need help with my laptop.
whenever i'm using HJ split to join my files, my laptop freezes and then starts making this like grinding sound.
it happens once every hour, but it'll unfreeze if i let it sit for a couple seconds,
but when using HJ split it'll completely freeze so i have to shut down my computer.
is there something wrong with my laptop? should i go get it checked? or is it just the HJ split program?

Sounds like your laptop is just slow.
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

No it doesn't, it means you should download Speed Fan and check the SMART tab



If they are low then your hard drive is probably failing... and the grinding sound is your data beign destroyed happy.gif

i downloaded speedfan and both fitness and performance levels are high.

OH yeah so just clean out the fans its possible that you have some hairs or other junk in the blades and its makng a lot of noise for you when its hot.

yeah when my laptop overheats it makes me mad too! LOL.
