I did a search on this, but didn't find any recent topics, but I didn't look far back either.

Anyway..

I'm trying to figure out my uni stuff right now. By the time I start my first year, I"ll be X.. is that too old for living in residence? I going to school in another town, so I'm moving either way. I'm not sure if I should rent a room or just apply for residence. what do you think? am I too old?

I kind of think I am. blush.gif

One of my friends was 22 when he was dorming with us (we were 19 at the time). He graduated from another university and then came to my school to study pharmacy so he was older. However he still acts like a 19 year old so I always forget that he's 26 now hahaha.

I would think that if you were put with juniors or seniors it shouldn't be too bad. If you were living with a bunch of freshman that might be weird. But personally I would rent a place if possible.

My suitemate is 22 and I'm 20, and we're both juniors, nothing is awkward. It is just about being able to communicate with people. Also for med school, the age gap varies even more. If it doesn't work out with the people you live with and you cannot stand it then consider renting a room, otherwise, residence has a community feel to it. However, you should also check the costs of each when making your decision, I'm moving off campus because it is actually a lot cheaper than staying on campus.

You get the added appeal of being cool cuz you can buy alcohol for your roommates. Have them address you as the "God Father".

Childhood is brief, Maturity lasts forever. Whats the rush?

I had a guy who was several years older when he was a freshman due to military service. The fact he was older than 21 made him one of the most popular freshmen in the dorm wink.gif
