how hard is it to transfer to university of british columbia or university of washington after the first year?
they want to look at my high school transcript which is really bad (2.7gpa, 1700 SAT score) and my college grades (which are good, almost all a's). i really want to go to ubc, but i dont know if i can get in. i need help, i'm in panic mode. i thought i'd be able to just send my college grades and have a fresh start, but theyre asking for my high school history as well. do you think they will see that i have improved or no? and i want to major in international business, but i guess it's really competitive, so would it help if i put a less competitive major on my application (since it's not like i'm declaring it yet).
btw, i live in the US

Great thing about transferring in college is that it sort of is a new chance. Yeah they look at high school grades and the SATs, but if you really do have all A's in your college that might give you a huge advantage. When I transferred, my high school and SAT's weren't good either. But because I did well in college (ironically) I got in. You might have to wait until next semester though or the beginning. They most likely want to see a full year of grades before letting you in. All in all, it's not hopeless. Good luck!
