What Is Wrong With My Scalp? in a desperate situation

My skin it typically dry, and so I thought maybe my scalp is dry too. I even used head and shoulders for dry scalp, until I think I became immune to it.
I read that dry scalp usually causes powdery flakes, and my flakes are generally larger unless I scratch some off. I would say they range in sizes.
Sometimes I get red spots from scratching too hard, or it's just under the first layer flakes I scratch off.
I've tried baby shampoo, baking soda, massaging my scalp when I shower, and over all trying to scratch less.
I heard vinegar works, but I don't have any, so I will have to buy some.
Please, if anyone can help me, i will be in your debt!

Neutrogena has a specific line for scalp problems.
The shampoos are very effective but they don't necessarily smell good.

I'm thinking it may be seborrhea. You can just ask your local pharmacist about the different shampoos available for treatment.

She tried head & shoulders already.
Is your scalp red where the skin flakes off?

neutrogena has 2 dandruff treatments. one that is a tar/coal treatment and which i think is utter crap. the other is a blue liquid which i prefer. or you can try selsun .... i haven't used this so i dunno.
edit. ask a chemist which type of dandruff you have. if they don't know ask a different chemist who is more knowledgeable.

I have this and my doctor recommended going outside in the sun as much as I can. She also prescribed a solution and a cream. It's always a good idea to keep the skin on that area as moist as possible. It's not contagious so you don't have to worry about it. This is a genetic, so it probably runs in the family (it does for me).
Also, Selsun Blue seems to work best with this scenario.
