Well, the topic title is pretty self-explanatory. I have acne on my chest, back all the way to my bumbum ><, shoulders and some just below my shoulders.

If anyone else has gotten rid of their own body acne problems, care to share what you did, what you used and around how long it took?

T_T I'm kind of desperate cause I feel so oogly and unable to walk around in slightly more revealing [but not too much] clothes sleep.gif;

I feel your pain. D8
I get acne ALL OVER my back.

I think for me it might just be genetic, since my mom has that too, but it could also have to do with how well you eat, if you're stressed; the usual causes of acne.
*shrugs*
Sorry I can't be of much help. ;P

Me too....
Except I just use my regular
facial cleanser and just wash
my back and whatever other
body part
and then I put a
toner that closes pores on it.

What really helps me is showering both in the morning and at night, and making sure to wash your back with a washcloth (not just your hands).

I just use my regular body soap.

When I wash my face, I also wash my chest and shoulders with my face wash and I don't break out there anymore!

- Make sure you shower/clean/change clothes after sweating/exercising
- Take note of the soaps/body washes and shampoo/conditioners that you use -- do you notice that a specific product would make you get more or less acne on your body?
- As hard as it sounds to do, exfoliate back there! I'm not sure if it's the same for body acne, but when you get acne on your face, it's from the build up of sebum (oil), dead skin cells, etc that clog up your pores so it doesn't hurt to exfoliate your body as well. Every day I shower using Dove's Exfoliating Body Wash and a loofa. I also do a thorough exfoliation of my whole body every 2-3 weeks with a Korean Bath Towel (if you haven't heard of it, there's a thread on Soompi somewhere) -- this is seriously awesome! You'd be surprised how much dead skin you have on your body and can scrap off lol.
- Use an AHA or BHA on your body where you would get acne. Personally, I use Peter Thomas Roth's AHA/BHA Face and Body Polish. It's a bit expensive, but you only need a bit 'cause it actually foams up pretty well. AHAs and BHAs help exfoliate the skin and clean your pores. And because it's "face and body" it's like a 2 in 1 product ^^. Since using this, I've noticed a decrease in amount and size of body acne (I get it on my chest and back too). Not only that, I think the potential zits on my back have been drying out 'cause sometimes I'll feel little bumps, and they'll turn out to be hard whiteheads that just pop right out -- no blood, no mess, no scar

If you're in desparate need of something that works, try talking to your doctor/dermatologist. They might prescribe you something for body acne.

That's all I can think of for now...good luck!

I always wash my back AFTER I wash my hair, just to make sure I don't have any shampoo residue at alllll. I used to have the same problem as you, until I tried clindamycin gel. You need a prescription, but it's well worth it. I used to avoid wearing tanktops or lowback tops because of the acne there, but it all cleared up very quickly after using clindamycin. :]

Ooh thanks!

I always scrub my whole body with those loofa things so that helps. I guess it's all in the essentials (diet, exercise, hygiene) and products used.

Thanks everyone happy.gif I will definitely try these out :3

Hmm, I have bacne. (Acne on my back) It's gross. My mom always tells me that I shouldnt wear low back shirts and stuff like that. Maybe you should talk to your doctor? I went to the doctor recently and she prescribed me this super strong ointment that I'm supposed to use. I haven't used it yet. :X /)_____(\;;

There's this "green cloth" from Korea (I don't know how it's called though...) that you use to exfoliate your skin and at the same time removes excess oil and sweat that may cause acne.

I think it would help using that and using antibacterial soap because acne is caused by a bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes)

I read in a magazine that a mojority of girls who has "bacne"..
Usually don't wash their backs as well as their other body parts.
Why?.. I guess because your back is hard to reach -o- LOL..
So, scrub your backs (:

And if you have like intense "bacne"
You should see a dermatologist?..
That should help~~

i used to have lots of bacne and acne on my chest. i had it for about a year or two ago. but they've been gone for awhile now since the summer. i actually got a prescription from my dermatologist. because i was stressing out a lot and everything i did didn't work. i also broke out alot on my face after years of not having any. the prescription she gave me helped out alot. although it was very strong. it makes your skin peel and dry but that's how you get rid of acne. get rid of all the dead skin cells. and then in the shower i used a loofah and scrubbed at my back to get rid of all the dead skin and also used body wash to =). she prescribed me with two medications. one used during the day was sorta gel like and didn't make my skin look dry and the other was used at night that was very strong which makes your skin peel. well by the end of the summer my skin was pretty much flawless. i also had alot of scars on my back from the acne before but with the medication she gave me they're all gone now too. it's a slow process but it works. took about 3 months. hope it helps. i'm suppose to go back to see her every 3 months to see how it's going and get more medication but my parents are cheap and since my skin's clear i don't go anymore =p. although the medication isn't cheap pretty pricey
