I'm pretty sure this goes in the Health & Fitness Section.. sweatingbullets.gif

Anyhow, like my topic title says, I become cold super easily. I'm already wearing a puffy down jacket (and I still feel cold at times) while my other friends were just wearing zip-ups. Plus, I live in Vancouver, so it's not..THAT cold. I'm at home right now; the temperature is about 19 degrees Celcius..I'm wearing a turtle-neck sweater AND a zip up...yet I'm still cold tears.gif. So, any tips on how to generate more body heat naturally? (Not looking for a "wear another jacket" or "turn the heat up" answer sweatingbullets.gif)

Also, do people with fast metabolism feel less cold?

Thanks!

Do a lot of strenuous exercise! That'll make ya sweat and warm you up! >D
I don't know what else other than wearing an extra jacket, haha.

I have the same problem as you. I get cold very very easily. I'm still wearing long sleeves when summer starts. I'm actually wrapped up in a blanket right now, and I drag it around with me whenever I gravitate towards the kitchen or wherever else. My best friend teases me and says I'm cold blooded/a reptile mellow.gif .. T.T

Ohh! That happens to me, too!
But I heard from tv that when you were a kid and you dress a lot and get covered up in layers and layers of coats, you'll become weaker when you grow up! D:
Because your body is used to all the warmth from outside and not needing to produce.. own warmth. LOL
And I'm like that sometimes. When I wear a bunch of sweaters and hoddies and coats, I feel really cold. o.O
~~ on the other hand, when I wear only a t-shirt and a jacket... I'm not as cold. ;DD AHHA H~
So I never dress accordingly to the weather now. D:
It's just weird. If you're still young, don't cover yourself with too many clothing. ):
Also exercise if you must. ;]

Life is beautiful...

Even it pains

i have the same problem, like even with the heater on or wearing like 50 layers with a blanket it takes me a while to get cold and i cant really think of many natural body solutions..but these are some ways i get warm..
a hot shower, exercising(sweating), and drinking hot tea

and i don't know about being warmer because of a faster metabolism, but i heard people who have less fat on their body tend to get colder more..that's what my teacher told me at least lol

Not enough iron in your body and maybe that contribute to you being cold?

I don't feel cold but apparently I have a colder body temperature. My friend put his hands over my eyes, i felt like my eyes were burning, lol.

I'm not sure about your question, try moving around like other people said? Jump up and down for a while or something.

I was having some issues like this, hard time regulating my body temperature; got hot or cold really easily. Went to a friend of mine who's a fitness trainer / health and nutrition major, low iron can be a major cause of this. I was eating what I thought was enough meat, but working out to the point I had to increase my iron intake to offset my burning.

Get a supplement pill, powder, or increase red meat intake by a little and it should help =)

iron can be a factor, so if you're not already start taking a daily vitamin/supplement, but be careful with the amount of iron you take because it is possible to overdose.

Just as some other posters said, you could be feeling cold because of iron deficiancy. Thats what happened to me, and I used to wear jackets in the summer, and i live in Texas! I'd reccomend you start taking a multivitamin or over-the-counter iron suppliment. It worked for me, maybe itll work for you biggrin.gif

Here is a basic guide on increasing iron intake: http://www.uhs.uga.edu/nutrition/iron.html

I personally do not recommend supplements because the body doesn't absorb them the same way you would from food. Also, if you really are iron deficient, you should see a doctor, not take supplements. Supplements cannot replace real vitamins and minerals that you get from food, otherwise we would be able to just eat rice and supplements and be as healthy as someone eating a normal meal (Which does not happen).

And I have fast metabolism and I don't see how it affects me being cold or warm. My extremities are constantly cold due to my poor circulation.

I have the same problem but I live in Holland so most of the time it's cold here. Try to go gym or exercising?

I think the secret is keeping your insides warm:

-eat something hot like soup-- you'll feel yourself getting gradually warmer with every spoonful!
-keep your vitals warm aka where you find your pulse like your neck & wrists (think about it, if you warm up the areas that pass the most blood, your whole body will carry that warmth eventually)

also... socks. Socks can make such a difference sometimes lol

I'm always stuck with a fever around winter time, too, even in summer. I sympathetically understand you. -.-

Well, to avoid colds/flu, wash your hand and feet alot. Warm yourself up with more heavy clothing or if not working, do intensity workout.

drink alcohol, it'll definitely keep you warm

eat food, the metabolic rate increase will disperse heat and make you warmer(you could have so low % body fat that its unhealthy which is why you're so freaking cold...)
