1. what is the age range? Do people in their mid twenties or even older fit in?
I would say about teen-30ish.
2. How loud do most raves get? Is it as loud as a regular club?
I think it's a bit louder. And you can definitely feel/hear the bass from miles away lol, at least at massives
3. Is it mostly guys or is it a mix of guys and gals?
Mixed
4. Is the atmosphere friendly, or can it get rough like in regular clubs?
It's usually pretty friendly =)
5. Is drug use prevalent or is that an urban myth?
Very prevalent and pretty obvious too. In face when I was walking around EDC this one dude was just yelling out, LSD and ACID, LSD and ACID. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........
What really really super annoys me are the people who go to massives just to overdose on drugs. Um, please do that at home thanks. And why are you here if you don't know about/like trance. Okay like I know some people who go who usually think trance "gives them a headache" but yet sounds so amazing when they're on drugs then afterwards they continuously rave on and on (example, on fb) about how amazing the rave was. STUPID just go do drugs at your own house. Haha I'm a hater but I hate how *commercial* massives are getting meh...

You haven't went to a rave until you go to one in the basement of a church *and there were multiple*.

I'm 24 and I've been going to raves for 8 years now- although I don't go nearly as often as I used to. once you hit 21, it's easier to just go to clubs to see dj's. no chance of it getting busted and all that jazz.

Well, time has passed and I now look at the 16 yr olds and think "wow they are so young but think they're so cool..." but at the same time reminding me of how embarrassing i must have been at that age with the same thoughts haha oh god...
It all depends on your perspective, but I'd even go as far as to say raving is probably better when your older, your appreciation increases and you know exactly what to expect, how to act and what to plan in order to have the best time and still stay safe...
Rave responsibly kids!!

Anyone fits in! I don't know if this is going to make any sense at all, but if people have time to think whether or not you fit in... well then, they're not fitting in, either.
2. How loud do most raves get? Is it as loud as a regular club?
Depends on the venue. Sometimes they're not loud at all and you can still hold a decent conversation without having to shout.
3. Is it mostly guys or is it a mix of guys and gals?
Mix, though I would say that the raves I've attended recently had more guys.
4. Is the atmosphere friendly, or can it get rough like in regular clubs?
Most people are there to simply enjoy the music, so it's pretty friendly. You don't get drunken brawls like you do at clubs, that's for sure.
5. Is drug use prevalent or is that an urban myth?
Very prevalent. Sure, you can have fun without drugs, but as kinein said.. not everyone is capable of dancing for 10-12 hours completely sober, have a hell of a good time and not complain about getting tired.
