I really feel hopeless about college these days...

but anyways how do I get started on my college essays early?

I am a sophomore so maybe I'm just getting way ahead of myself.

Do I go to the college websites or something?

^ Dude, I'm a sophmore, too. Don't think about college essays right now, leave those until you're actually applying to colleges.

You could change your college list from now and then.

You really, really don't need to worry about this now.

oops yeah i didn't read your post.
just talked about my situation lol.

YOU'RE A SOPHOMORE!!!!!!
Most applicants start in the fall of senior year.
The early birds I guess start in summertime.
And the procrastinating losers (like me) start in December.

Download an application from the universities that you want to apply for, then try writing the essay questions they have on there.

You might end up with the same kind of topic, or something similar to it when you actually do apply, but all you have to do is tweak it to how you want it. But you never know. In one or two years, you don't know what kind of interesting experience you're going to have.

You can also buy college prep books for essays or something and see if they have any essays.

I don't know if they have the same similar type of essays, but you can try :] Then tweak them in senior year when you get the real app. Ok, I'm repeating myself =X

Woah....This is too early. Just enjoy the rest of your childhood, by the time you're a junior/senior you want to go back in time. Don't spoil it.

I do think you are a bit early in worrying. What you might want to do is write or email the college admissions offices where you are thinking of applying and ask them what some of their essay questions are, then you can at least start thinking about your responses. You won't actually have to start applying until the fall of your Senior year, so when Senior year comes around, just get applications early (like in September or whenever the school year starts for you) and then you can get a good head start on your essays. Good luck!
