Anyways have any of you guys ever gone to a bar/club, mostly a bar tho, alone? Like no friends, no people you might know there, absolutely alone. I sometimes go to bars with a couple of friends, but there are times when I don't have anybody to go with and or my friends cant/don't want to go that night, yet I do. But I have never ever gone alone, You think I should? Could there be advantages to being alone that I haven't realized?

Other then sports bar, it kind of boring to go by myself.

And as far as the movies go, I really just go to watch the movie... I've gone alone, and will go alone again. It doesn't bother me because I realized I was just getting together with friends, going in, watching the movie (no one speaks) then separating. So it was kinda pointless, unless we stuck around to talk about the movie afterward.

A bar is different I guess, but I don't think it would be that bad going alone, alot of times when at a bar with friends or a club it dawned on me that hmmm... if a person of the opposite sex was interested in me, it would probably be easier for them to talk to me if I was alone rather than with my drunk friend over here...

I think a new issue is going your separate ways straight after the movie has concluded, rather than spending more time with one another. Isn't the point of meeting up with friends is to socialise with them?

The only other exception is if I'm in some foreign place on vacation or business trip. I wouldn't mind grabbing alone. Getting plastered by myself is a whole different story though...

Agreed! Except I don't go to bars -- I meant for general stuff like movies and things. I told a guy friend that and he was worried for me because he says I need to socialize more ._.

I do. Sometimes when I want to unwind and get away from my troubles, I go clubbing by myself. No boyfriend, no friends. Just me by myself as a stress reliever. I really don't see anything wrong with it. The advantages of being alone when going to the bar, in my case, clubs, is that there aren't people there to bother you. You're in your own zone, I guess. You're free to relax more

^ lol
if it helps, my cousin (guy) doesn't mind going to bars alone especially if it's to get over a bad day with a couple of drinks, but he says he would never go clubbing alone.. it's more of a social event - something he'd go to if his friends invited him, but otherwise not somewhere he'd normally just randomly go to

Oh yeah, all the time!
I get particularly hit on hard by bouncers that don't take too kindly to my fake Hawaiian McLovin ID.
