and then there are some people who make the choice of being homosexual through adolescence.
i don't think that there is only one answer as to how people become homosexual.

My position is this: I don't care. If a state wants to criminalize sodomy they can do it. If a state wants to legalize gay marriage they can do that too. You can do whatever the hell you want, but do it through the legislature, don't try to pull the equal protection bullocks and try to get judges to legislate from the bench.

it's your teacher's opinion I guess. Has he ever even known any gay people? I agree with you. That's what I think too--after knowing gay men since I was little)--my best male friend in high school, and others, on top of months of research for a school paper. I think you get what you get, like eye and hair color. I'm not a scientist with evidence--it's just a feeling I have. eThe male people I've asked have said something similar--they knew they liked boys at early ages--the avg was between 8 and 11. Playing with Barbies and even makeup doesn't necessarily mean a kid could be gay--after all, there are many hetero men who are famous for playing at being women---and have been for centuries. Some *may* be gay--but that doesn't mean they were influenced by surroundings, or the way they were brought up. Nothing can make you gay, or anything else.
sometimes people are in certain situations where there may be experimenting going on because of their living situation--like at an all-boy's school, or jail-other male only things-some guys may really be gay--but others adapt to their surroundings and go with what's available.
that, and tons of other examples. I'll never understand how someone can even think that way--saying it's a choice a person makes--why would someone choose to be something that could get him kicked out, ostracised; beaten....or worse.

Personally, I don't think its a choice at all. I have a cousin who knew he was gay at a very young age and everyone in my family could tell. He was treated really badly by his stepfather and by his classmates because of it. He even went so far as to "fake" date one of my sister's friends so that he wouldn't get picked on at school. (The girl offered to fake date him, he wasn't deceiving her.) It makes me really sad to think someone would have to live a fake life just to be treated like a human being.

It's a lifestyle choice based on nurture and development, like being fat. Yea, you might be genetically predispose, but genes don't make you stuff your face constantly.

yeah my friend was like that. i knew him for as long as i could remember. he got teased and made fun of because of the way he acted. his parents treated him like an outsider. but he told me that he rather get teased and called a disgrace in his family rather than living a life to be someone he's not. so i support him. he's really a nice guy and it's sad to know that people treat him rather differently.
