Hello fellow soompiers!!!

I've been a member of Soompi since 2002, but ever since entering college I have had absolutely no time to come on anymore So first and foremost, I would like to apologize to anyone who may feel offended by my post requesting your input although I have no been active here for the past 2-3 years.

I am a current NYU student studying hotel and tourism management and for one of my research classes, I am studying the development of "voluntourism" (term coined by volunteer + tourism) in the South East Asian region, which is basically travelling and vacationing while doing good for the destination's communities. I am inviting anyone and everyone here who is interested to take part in my survey. Of course the option to take the survey is entirely up to you-- all the feedback I can get would be most appreciated (and I truly mean it :]).

The link is provided below this message, consisting of 10 short questions that will only take a few minutes of your time. Any additional comments and thoughts relating to South East Asian voluntourism (whether you think it has a positive/negative effect either economically, socially, culturally, etc., whether you see it as an emerging trend, if there's potential for growth in this sector, any ethical issues, etc...), please feel absolutely free to share them-- you can obviously post them here, or if you'd like, you can message them directly to me.

My goal is not only to study the development of voluntourism in SEA, but to see if voluntourism is really what most people conceive it to be and look deeper into the ethical aspects of it as well. I know that all the feedback I can get through your inputs would be of great support to my studies.
